I'm traveling from Taipei through sfo with a long layover there... I was wondering if you had to take your checked luggage and do something with it when you went out to the city of if it was just checked through 😅

nope! you wont need to! however, from taipei to sfo to final destination in the US, you'll need to recheck your bag bc you're entering the US again:)
