Hey guys, Saputara is one & only hill station in Gujarat and it is approximately 5 hours from Mumbai, one and half hours from Nashik and 3 hours from Surat. We spent 2 days in this beautiful place and here is what we did;
Day 1:
We reached Saputara from Nashik and roads are quite good. It took us around 1 and half hour to reach.
Our first stop was Hatgad Fort. It is technically in Nashik district but just 8 kms away from Saputara. This fort's history dates back to 15th century, a very beautiful place. View from up there is amazing.
But to reach on the top you have to climb few steps.
Timing: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
No Entry Fees
From there we first checked in into our hotel, you will see room tour and costing in detail in the video.
After getting freshen up we explored Saputara/Sarpaganga Lake.
And we ended our first day with Table Land.
Apart from these places you can cover Nageshwar Mahadev Temple, Jain Derasar, Sai Temple, Tribal Museum, Sunset Point, Governor Hill. Some of these places are under renovation so we couldn't visit.
Day 2:
Saputara comes under Dang district which is a home to beautiful Tribal community and a beautiful forest area. So we decided to explore its raw natural beauty.
We drove around 2 hours to and reached U Turn Point. It is known as U turn point because Gira river literally takes U turn at this point and creates a horse shoe bend. It is mesmerising to see our very own version of horse shoe bend.
No Entry Fees.
From there we went to see Girmal waterfall which is the largest waterfall in Gujarat state. Best part about this falls is you don't need to trek or walk to see it.
No Entry Fees.
We were super hungry so we decided to eat authentic Dangi food. In this region Nagli/Nachni/Ragi is staple so we had Nagli No Rotlo/Bhakri, Udad Dal, Baingan Batata Bhaji, Dal, Rice, Chaas, Nagli Papad but the star of this thali was Dangi Chutney.
Cost - INR 130 per thali.
From there we went to see a very important place about which we all have heard from our childhood - Shabri Dham. From Ramayana point of view it's a very important place.
Lastly, we ended our day with Pampa Sarovar where Ramji used to come for the bath.
