Usually if I get a window seat, staring at the clouds and the terrain below keeps me entertained for an impressively long time. Noise cancelling headphones make the experience way better, you don't have to hear the engine sound or people talking. Movies also work wonders. On a 10 hour trip to Spain, I did nothing but binge watch movies using the in house entertainment system, and I was actually disappointed when I landed because I wanted to keep going. On another trip to Rome, I kept myself preoccupied by printing out a language guide and memorizing key phrases and words on the plane. Killed a few hours. I was also lucky enough to sit next to a Roman, who told me about her city. To me the best way to keep yourself busy on a plane though is to do something related to your trip. For instance, sorting and deleting photos from your trip can occupy a lot of time, and thinking about the schedule of your vacation can also help. These kinds of things maintain the anticipation and makes your flight feel more like a part of the journey and less a meaningless boredom session.

I always read articles about what not to do on a plane and taking shoes off is a no-no. Although you must always be comfortable, please grab a pair of slip-ons even though you are wearing socks. i hear its not always hygienic in a place plus you may make people around you uncomfortable. just a non-negative advice.

TIP: If u have Netflix you can download films completely free! All you have to do is click on the film u want to down load and on the details section there should be a "download" button. Click that and then u can download many films as u want to watch if u don't have in-flight entertainment or if the person In Front of u has put their seat Down. Please note the following: You have to have enough to storage space on your device. (They don't take up that much) You have to keep renewing them (re- downloading) them every few weeks otherwise they may need to be renewed on ur flight so u can't watch them. Just keep checking them. Also, some films may not be able to download but I haven't seen one that u can't download yet. Only films are downloadable and not series and/or episodes of a show. Hope this helps someone , happy travelling :)
