Hi Claire, I really enjoyed your video of things to do in Tallinn. I would really love to go and visit this place. Did you know that the city was called Tallinn only after 1918? The old name of the city was Reval before 1918. It was ruled by the Danes, the Swedes, the Teutonic Knights (Germans); and the Russians.

Tallinn was provincial and not wealthy town in early modern ages until the 20th century, so the old town preserved most of its old buildings.

It has been verified that Neil Armstrong never stayed at the Hotel Viru because he was never in Estonia. It was most likely a lesser known American astronaut called James Benson Irwin, the eighth person to walk on the Moon, who certainly visited Tallinn back in 1978.

@@ClaireHawkins Strangely enough I'm a first hand witness. As it turns out Mr Irwin became a Baptist minister at some point in his life. Me and my father happened to be present at the St. Olaf's church in Old Town when he was giving a sermon there.

Your parents probably worked for the KGB. Regular Americans didn't just want around the USSR.
