Thank you for explaining the whole cruelty free thing. I didn't really understand the seriousness of it and what the alternatives to testing. I feel like now I have a better perspective on it.

Loved this episode! I’m a maternal newborn nurse & I loved hearing you explain the birthing process. I hope both of your deliveries go well!💗💙 Also, Advil knows where you’re in pain because your body releases chemicals where you’re hurting & the Advil blocks those chemicals resulting in decreased pain 🫶🏼

If it makes you feel any better, one of my best friends takes care of the animals who are tested on. She works for a pharmaceutical company, and she spends time with the animals, feeds them, and loves on them. And she told me that the company she works for only tests on the animals up to 5 times before they’re retired from testing

I loveeee these episodes because y’all bring up aviation related stuff and I’m an aerospace and space journalist!! Literally my every day life is trying to figure out how the technology works (esp when I first started writing about it) and I feel dumb most days haha 😂😂 Also the Hindenburg is a very famous incident talked about a lot in the industry! So it’s just super interesting hearing you gals discuss it from an outside perspective I love y’all 🥹❤️

The worst with my pregnancy was the comments on how small I was. It made me so depressed. Omg 😞

Thank you jaci for talking about animal testing! Another sad thing is they use bunnies bc they don’t have tear ducts to wash away products/chemicals. And beagles because they’re very docile and trusting😞 even when the testing doesn’t kill the animal they are ultimately killed anyway when they’ve outlived their usefulness. There are programs like Beagle Freedom Project where they try to work with the labs and adopt the animals once they’re done with the animal.

Wildlife biologist here lol there is a lot of diversity in fish reproduction but a lot of them do external fertilization so the female lays eggs and the male comes and ~fertilizes~ them lol. Some of them do have “parts” and do it internally as well (sharks) :)

Babies can be born in the sac! It’s called “en caul” which is uncommon and some cultures consider it to be good luck or especially blessed!

PSA they do animal testing on more than just cosmetics. I work in the medical device field and we have to do these kinds of irritation & sensitization tests on animals with all the materials we use in medical devices. :(

My best friend birthed her baby and he was still in his sack. Its rare but it is possible:) It actually is an “easier” labor as far as pain goes because the sack gives cushion so that labor pains arent as strong? My second babys sack was broken on my last push before she came out actually which I didnt feel like my labor pressure was that bad because of it? Because I do natural child birth I prefer their sack not be broken manually to help with pressure management. Haha the more you know! Loved this episode!🫶🏻 so happy for you both💗
@juliaechols80958 ай бұрын
Came to comment that it is possible to give birth without your sack breaking! My daughter’s sack never broke so we got to see her still fully inside which was crazy!! It’s called “en caul” birth when this happens! Also she was born on Jaci’s bday so I feel like they are twin flames lol💕💕

Haha the wierd lady rubbing your stomach was definitely Slavic/Eastern European. I’m Slavic myself and left that community cause the old people in it have no sense of boundaries and say whatever the hell comes to their mind and do whatever they want ie. rubbing your belly, saying out of pocket shit, commenting on your body. Once an old lady told me I’m going to hell for wearing jeans💀💀
