Well, if one understands the topic, I believe it is good practice to explain the concept that builds the topic in simple words but with specific terminologies that prevents misunderstanding. I think INTPs would appreciate that. Analogies too, if they're easily relatable.

Being mentally or morally lazy is something that is almost repulsive to me. When someone chooses to be willfully ignorant or choose to not do the right thing (even though it wouldn't cost them much time or effort) really, really bothers me. People can be physically lazy as much as they want as long as nobody gets hurt (not taking care of kids or pets out of laziness is not ok). Just don't be mentally or morally lazy.

INTP here: One of my biggest pet peeves is Surveys... When I take a survey where the wording in the questions are vague, and I'm thinking the following... well if they meant (A), then I would answer "Strongly Agree"... but if they meant (B), then I would answer "Disagree". So I wind-up answering "Neutral" often because of this. And those who analyze the data are at a loss for not receiving my opinion accurately, thus skewing the data results when surveying a focus group. Surveys = Unreliable data. Maybe all they're good for is analyzing "trends"

People telling me how to 'feel' because my reactions seem off (female INTP here). Feelings are interpretations of emotions. Emotions are universal chemical reactions in the brain; feelings are learned responses influenced by culture and personality. INTP's happen to interpret emotions through Ti and express through Ne. This looks strange next to societal expectation of overly flamboyant feeling displays, but it servers the same function! Also, people not getting excited about finding the answers and ruining the mystery for everyone else. I'm very protective of pursuit for knowledge and if someone is trying to sabotage that, (either deliberately or ignorantly) then I'm going to pull out every psychological trick I know to get the train back on track!

This made me feel all fuzzy inside. Reading comments like this one makes me feel happy the way others express happiness by what to me seems mundane or simply 'nothing'. People are weird. I have always thought I was the normal one in sosial situations because I feel closer to the truth of whats actually happening, but knowing that whats socially normal is very primitive reactions and people caring about what shoes to wear, with no purpouse but "shoe-confusion", is just weird. Lovely to see normal people like myself.

Regarding the hobbies and interests, I've found a "bin" that also allows me to assert my INTP creativity. There's a thing called "World Building," where a sci-fi or fantasy author constructs a world. For an INTP, it would likely be complete with nations, languages, mythology, natural history, and backstory for every citizen in a village, etc. As an example: Tolkien's Middle Earth. This allows me to study whichever branch of knowledge currently catches my attention and also to synthesize a "practical" application for that knowledge (seriously, in the real world, there are few practical uses for knowing the order of Imperial liquid volume measures). I use a tool called _World Anvil_ for organizing the collection of facts about my world. On the creative side, as I write stories, I can refer to my world's encyclopedia.

I have a course at university which is fundamentally flawed. The concepts are not necessarily flawed but the actual teaching of it is. Most of the classes I took were as you describe. During the Italian Renaissance, independent, scientific societies developed as a response to the university dogmas of the day - seems like a return to that spirit of curiosity not driven by economic pressure or political pandering would precipate a paradigm shift and allow us to overcome the current ivory tower stagnation.

As an INTP, I find that the fear of boredom is one of my biggest drivers and obstacles in life and career that manifests itself as procrastination and perceived laziness. The paradox I continually experience is the desire to be entrepreneurial in my endeavors (and have many ideas as such), but remain noncommittal because I know that my passion for whatever it is, is fleeting.
@cinthiagoch

Everything in the video rang true, but the one about being in between the simple and the complex was something I have struggled to put my finger on up until now. I love acquiring knowledge, and I often go deep into subjects that have nothing to do with my work or even with each other just to satiate my curiosity. But I really try to sum things up when I find a willing listener, or I'll retain the broader aspects of it, even though I know the details are fascinating. I remember when I was in college I was considered a very bookish and nerdy person. But then I would find myself in conversations where this person kept citing an author and whatever book... and he would do that at least 8 times during a 5min conversation! I don't know if he thought I had read the same books as him (though we were taking different courses), or if he was just trying to show off his repertoire and make me feel dumb, but it was maddening because there was no real conversation there! He never said what the ideas really were or how they connected to his argument, he just assumed that by citing a few books he could make himself understood. He actually drained any curiosity I had to know those authors during these conversations. He made ne NOT want to research something I actually wanted to know more about. That's like... making a fish give up on swimming through sheer boredom. Nuts!

1. if you hate everything your life is bound to suck, doesnt seem like a type thing more like a personal problem 2. simplistic explanations do suck, but i can't see how a Ti dom wouldn't like the overly complicated theorizing, so long as it makes sense and follows a logical path. I think its awesome to detangle ideas, specially if theyre all connected. I think INTPs like complicated things, to turn them into more simple concepts, and that does imply them liking the overly complex ideas so that they can simplify them / generalize them. For example, when reaserching an answer to a question i like to read way more than is needed to then, when my Ne is finally satisfied, simplify and give the best summary i could make. (takes a long time but is very satisfying). 3. yeah this one is pretty bad. Makes intps doubt their intelligence, which is a recurring theme in intps life. 4. Yes, this one is 100% true, misinformation is an epidemic that makes society dumber as a collective so it's intolerable. It's like doing a disservice to humanity. 5. Nah keeps me entertained. Just give the top 3 hobbies the most time and show it to others somehow (keeps that Fe happy) and it's not bad. It can feel like a waste of time though, to be semi-good at many things but not good enough to make a living out all of them. 6. agree 7. agree too much. Another thing intps hate is when theyre not heard. like they get asked for an answer, they think about it, find a logical solution to it that could probably work, and then the asker doesnt even listen to the answer they asked for and does whatever the hell that makes no sense and will bring no results toward obtaining the soultion they were seeking. Pretty annoying. Another thing intps really hate is irrational emotions. seriously, ask an intp how they're feeling and they will cringe and secretly hate you for asking about the thing they try to avoid at all costs. That's due to demon Fi. anything Fi related is seen as an attack, an enemy, a frustrating negative situation, etc. If you make another one of these of any type be sure to remark on their demon function, it will 100% work and be relatable, and relatability gives subscriptions, which seems to be a problem you're facing currently according to the end of the video.. Like from my meme sharing experiences, number one factor for shares and likes is relatability, then comes comedy so bonus points if it involves both concepts. Last thing intps hate i will mention is when someone doesn't want to accept a truth because it doesn't "FEEL" right. (another Fi rejection problem). Like if you're telling someone something factual you read about extensively and know to be true, and they can´t accept it, even if it makes all the sense in the world, even if they admit it makes all the sense in the world, because it doesn't "FEEL" right to them so they can´t accept it to be that way.. *intp brain explodes*

The whole thing about miscommunications and disliking people who deliberately do not communicate clearly is so on point. AAAAGHHH YES JUST F*CKING SAY WHAT YOU ARE THINKING. I don't think people realize how stressful and fear-inducing it is to me when they try to "soften" harsh news. The more they try to avoid saying it, the worse it gets for me. Just f*cking SAY IT. I hate having to fight being placed in a “box of understanding“. It’s one thing to dismantle assumptions out there in the world but it’s an entirely different beast, having to dismantle assumptions about who I am, what I’m about, what my intentions are. It drives me insane when no matter how carefully I construct a response, prefacing the challenge in receiving it, reiterating a point over and over because the person is arguing the cliches they argued elsewhere. About the first one I got an A in pre-calculus because my professor explained exactly why things were the way they were, and how they came to be that way. Everything made sense and wasn’t over simplified, asking us to just “memorize the formulas” Instead teaching us how to derive the formulas. For calculus 1 however I dropped it once and failed it twice. Professors were basically saying “this is how it is just memorize it this way”. Well I eventually lost interest and didn’t even wanna know more and kept on failing over and over again. Looks like I’ll fail a third time.

I think you're correct in you assessment about the doors. I was thinking if you'd had an earthquake or something to shake up the house, but then you explained on the construction... I may be no expert in the field, but I know vibrations can loosen screws. I can tell you this, INTPs aren't the only ones who hate the willful ignorant. I don't expect people to have knowledge in everything. No, that would be unreasonable. What I do dislike is when someone acts like they know a topic, when all they have is bs they made up in their own head, and absolutely refuse to listen to anyone else on the matter. Someone who is willing to learn, great, that's awesome. Someone who is adamantly stupid... they try my patience and I have to step away from the conversation before they trigger me to (verbally) attack more than their arguments.

Non-closing doors = classic symptom of your house's foundation settling. Especially 3 all at once. Make a straight line at the top of your door 30" long or so...parallel to the door jam. Pull out the hinge-pins. Take outside. You'll only havta cut 1/4 inch or so, but on a (REALLY long triangle shaped ) tapered cut

Wow, I relate to all of these so much. Another annoying thing is when someone is telling you something, and they're about to get to the main point, but then they run off on another tangent which is totally irrelevant. My mom often does this. I always want to yell at her, "Just tell me your point already! I already know or don't need to know what you're rambling on about, what I do need *cough* want *cough* to know is the reason you started this conversation!" On the bright side, it is a way for me to practice patience. But it's still incredibly frustrating.

It's not heat. It's humid weather. My bedroom door has swelled for years regardless of temperature. I have an alarm clock that keeps track of temperature and humidity in my house. And has external sensors outside to tell me the weather by measuring pressure trends. Under my window I found out that it's not sealed around the frame. Let's air in from the outside. I bought a window fan that measures temp also. And it would suck air out depending on the temp I set. As long as air was sucked out faster then it came in my door closed normally. The second I don't have the fan my door rubs on the frame. It could be screws. But it's most likely moisture. Or a combination of both and possibly a 3d prob. But for sure moisture. Maybe the drilling unsealed parts of your House. Maybe it messed with the screws. Or maybe both.

Einstein's quote is the statemen of Elegance as a value. If all INTPs do not hold this among their top three values, they should. It is possible that Elegance is the only necessary value, as things like Truth, Justice, and Fairness fall naturally from it. I like to distinguish between complex and complicated. Complex things generally have more elegance. They are composed of elemental parts that interact to give rise to (hopefully) useful emergent properties. Complicated things are like Rube Goldberg machines.

I can't stand willful ignorance! It might be the thing that annoys me about people more than anything else. I am very thankful that I am able to read and write. I love being able to communicate using the written word. I think in such a nonlinear and chaotic fashion, yet have such a drive to make things logical and organized that I find that writing is practically necessary to my sanity. I will write notes to myself, edit and rewrite them sometimes, just to help me make sense of my own ideas. I love social media platforms in which I can communicate solely by the written word. It takes much of the anxiety out of social interactions for me because I can express my thoughts much more eloquently and succinctly in writing than I can orally.

Holy shit, the 2nd one. It drives me absolutely INSANE when issues aren't resolved by facts but the other party wants their opinion to be the "fact." When in reality, it's negating the whole conversation bc it's based off emotion vs logic causing no productive conversation and igniting frustration in me bc I don't feel heard bc I want to stick to facts.... lol then I'm made to feel selfish and like a dick bc I don't want to agree to an opinion. I'd rather just surround myself with more people wanting to I guess properly "debate. " while leaving out emotions, bc though emotions do hold some ground.... facts sort of win over it. If I seem heartless. Thats fine.

An insightful presentation. I would have called the video "What INTP Dislike Intensely," rather than 'Hate.' The latter, to me, suggest an attitude resembling 'everything,' 'nothing, and 'never' & 'always' which we INTP dislike for their lack of nuance, subtlety, and clarity. I think that the trait you've named "having Too Many Interests,"[3] could use more explanations, because it 'violates' points 1,2,4, & 5. Thanks.

it is weird, i don't have a lot of unfinished projects, i have some, that slowly but surely get finished one by one, i tend to have multiple projects at the same time, some grow indefinetly, some as i said before, get finished, but mostly the ones i finished are the ones that i need to finish to acomplish something in the real world, the unfinished or infinite ones are the ones i've got for fun or enterteinment... i also have some future projects that i may or may not take depending on the situation that could or not come, just to not get lost in the world, which i can easily do, those are like a framework, to find my way again back into the real world if something goes wrong for example, or if something goes good, you need to adapt...

I’ve explored and excelled in a lot of subjects that I’d often hear from teachers “If you don’t get (some job in their subject) I’ll go crazy!” Having potential is fulfilling in terms of receiving admiration, but being uncertain in the execution of which to actually pursue is fcking excruciating.

A response to "Not being able to articulate and convey your thoughts properly." From my perspective, the thought and verbal translation of the thought can be compared to two very complex shapes with their own distinct colors. The problem is when one is no longer similar to the other (within acceptable parameters). Unacceptable example: Thought: I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Verbal translation: I was taken in a bus, stabbed, drugged, shocked, and when I woke up I hurt everywhere and people kept asking me questions over and over again. Acceptable example: Thought: Debunked Philadelphia Experiment Conspiracy. Verbal translation: WW2, USS Eldridge, Einstein's Unified field theory, invisible ship, people fused into metal on ship.
