Theory: The teapots (AKA: Utah Teapots) are actually test objects. Since in the 3d modelling community, they sometimes use this polygon for reference on complex renders, this could mean that Caine is testing the place. What I mean is Caine is putting placeholder objects under the map, & unfinished textures because he is testing & working on the map. & what proves this further is since Caine doesn’t want the performers to see his unfinished work, that could mean he didn’t want them to see what is under the map. What proves this part even further is that Caine wouldn’t want them to see how NPCs are made. Another theory is that had is on how Caine creates NPCs. I believe the manikins are placeholder models & are a reference to flesh out, or “model” the NPCs. Which leads us to the conclusion that the manikins are like the bones or reference model for the new NPCs.

As for the extra pieces of clothing, Gooseworx clarified in the GLITCHX 2023 live that although the characters cannot change their clothes/appearances on their own, Caine could if he wanted/was requested It can also be that trope when a character has their mind transferred to a new body, those responsible usually place elements that the mind is already familiar with so that it "accepts" and adapts to the new body. Some examples of the latter are the Exos from Destiny, or the Recoms from Avatar: The Way of Water
