"DIP" is exactly as it sounds and signs like those are fairly common on large stretches of road that receive less maintenance. it warns approaching drivers that the pavement has a sudden drop, which can cause damage to vehicles travelling at faster speeds. its the exact opposite hazard of "BUMP".

Death Valley is so cool stage. And the fact the SLS AMG uses CLK 63 sound which was needed for NFS Undercover but well, Black Box was always late with the sounds. Too bad the console versions ruined this by mixing this with the added later aston_martin_db9_2006 (not the alt1) and the alfa_romeo_8c sound from NFS HP 2010. I love how they misspellt many of the car sounds as like C64 and also using dod_chrgr_a DCL sound from NFS PS. Despite this NFS had exclusive sounds which didn't appear in other NFS games, you can notice how rushed the sounds are there.
