Finished my undergrad in APK at UF back in 2017! Considering PT school, but in the process of completing some more pre-reqs and getting my hours in. Its a process for sure, especially since I didn't anticipate this path while I was finishing up my undergrad. Taking one step forward at a time and learning throughout the process. I would love to hear how you integrate your practice daily or if you have patients that you see regularly when you are not training/competing/running a business/being superwoman. You are such an inspiration.

This was a great and informative video! I will be graduating from undergrad this coming May and I have been thinking about becoming a PT, but my major was completely different. So I would have to take a year off to finish all my prereqs. I would love to hear more about how you handled that time if possible? It is very overwhelming for sure. You mentioned how you only took one year off but were you still able to apply even though you haven't finished all your prereqs? I also haven't taken a science class since high school and I am worried I would be wasting time and money taking prereq classes but realizing I am not genuinely good at them.

How long it took you to complete it? Can u go in deep what degree you had to get before you were in. Did you go for AA>BS>Decorate?

Most people do their Bachelors then Doctorate. If your undergrad degree entails your prerequisites then most students go straight through, if not some students take a year or two to complete prerequisites before applying to school

My first semester of the DPT program was a mess! I found it unbearably difficult, stressful and daunting. I wanted to quite SO bad. However, don't give up! I struggled through a lot of the program, but I did get used to the grind and push of the program. You CAN do this. HUGS!

So if I'm currently studying physical education and I realise that I'm truly passionate about physical therapy, after my undergraduate can I still go to a dpt school? Which is the difference between doing that and an actual person that studied PT in a university and then went to a DPT school

piero buhytron i believe you can apply with any undergrad. But you will need to take additional classes to meet prerequisites which includes classes such as anatomy chemistry physics. You can explore more through PTCAS

If I was to graduate PT school at 49 years of age, would that be crazy? Can I pay back loans if I worked till I'm 65-70? I was looking into dental hygienist and or dentist and PT..... I love PT because everything involves movement and Hippocrates quoted walking is mans best medicine and look well to the spine for this is the cause of many diseases..... Can you work part time while in school? Can you get grad plus loans to help pay for housing ?

Im gonna say that you will not be able to work in pt school. It is too demanding, you will have to be obsessed with studying.

Its never too late if PT is your passion! Most programs do not suggest working while in a full time program, especially your first year. But there are hybrid and online classes that provide good flexibility to work while going through the program. I would suggest checking out Pre PT Grind. They share tips for all your questions

Cari just thought I’d chime in and say that physical therapists can work in hospital settings with patients! A lot of physical therapists work in a medical setting!

Yes you absolutely can! As long as you finished the prereq classes and complete your observation hours under a physical therapist
