Hey there homeschooling mom here. Try mixing the curriculums. We use abeka for history and science and use Saxon math for the repetition and practice. We’re in the middle of transitioning from abeka language in 5grade to something a little more fun. Good luck!

Have you checked into the publishers return policy? Some curriculums have a return period.

Hang in there my friend it will all work out. Your children are so Blessed too have you as their teacher, I know each kid is different and they all learn different and I know some do well at home schooling than in a school setting and you just have to do what’s best for your children. I know your children are going to learn so much from you. Your desire to be a teacher shows through your children they are very smart Kassidee.. I wish you the very best year and I pray you find what works best for your children!!!

We absolutely love using the Good and the Beautiful too, for what it’s worth. We are going into our 4th year. But like you said, every family has to find what works for them!

Oh so exciting! Homeschooling my three ages 8-5 for a few years now! I would look into masterbooks, math lessons for a living education, and they have language arts too! And Gather around looks so great as well.

What a fun week! I’ve seen some criticism of TGTB math that it’s a mile wide & an inch deep - we are using Math With Confidence and love it :)

We are on our 4th year homeschooling, we use the good and the beautiful for language arts for my oldest and youngest, but for math ,science and history for both my oldest and youngest we use master books we use it as a spine and add if needed but works for both my girls.

I feel like The Good and the Beautiful might be the best match for the spiral curriculum you are looking for, so definitely keep going and find out what is working and what is not working. Praying for continued homeschooling success.

Hang in there, Kassidee. Our first year was a HUGE headache. Losing money, not liking certain curriculums, seems to be the norm. I like going over lessons as well, not jumping to the next. We're in year three and finally getting the swing of things. We have to have Bible teachings. That's a must! You'll have bumps in the road, but you'll get there. It's a blessing to see our third grader reading on the 8th grade level. You'll see the fruits of your labor. Blessings to your household.

this is SO the encouragement I needed to read! thank you so much. I have heard over and over again many first time homeschoolers have this happen where money is wasted and curriculum is switched up. Thank you again for your kind words of encouragement :)

Gosh, what a shame the curriculum providers don’t offer some sort of return window where you can try it out for a couple of weeks before committing to it. Seems like an awfully big leap of faith.

Wow, I apologize for the very late response. I'm just seeing this message. I forgot to mention. Check out your local libraries. Some of them have activities for children who are homeschooled. It's just a way to get them to socialize with other homeschooled children. @itsmekassidee

Do you have to follow your state curriculum? do you have to report when they first a grade to the state

Brysen is getting so big! I miss hearing the kids call it a pack pack. Lila is definitely your mini me. She is such a little fashionista and model. Her speech has gotten so good. Jensen looks so grown up now. I hope you find a curriculum that works for you.

We are doing a Christian classical homeschool and kind of piecing things together. One of the very first curriculums we bought was the good in the beautiful. I loved it, but I found that there was too many pieces to it. It didn’t need to be that much. This year we are doing a few different things. We have four little ones, three of which are in homeschool this year. A preschool age, a first grader and a third grader. For my first and third grade we are doing core skills language arts workbook, as well as Abeka spelling and explode the code phonics. For math we are doing Abeka arithmetic workbook. For history, we are doing the mystery of history, volume one creation to the resurrection. For my first grader, we are reusing some previous readers of the good and the beautiful. I did buy a science curriculum, but I’m just going to be using it as a read aloud it is by rod and staff. One of the best things is that the pressure is off, you learn as you go and your kids think your amazing no matter what! XO

Hey Kassidee, I just wanted to share this with you I started watching your channel many years ago when Jensen was a baby he was the cutest and i just fell in love with that name, now many years later my daughter just had a baby girl and we named her Jensyn with a y makes it a little more girly. I just wanted you to know that she’s the most precious perfect little baby girl ever she only weighed 4lbs 15oz but was completely healthy❤ I love your family and love you vlogs!

@@itsmekassidee I just had to tell you, you and your little boy was the reason I fell in love with that name and now my sweet granddaughter shares it💗 I hope you have a wonderful year with your sweet babies I know it’s hard raising them but it’s so rewarding! One day they will be grown both of my girls are now I’d give anything to go back to to when they were in school. Your a good momma you’ve got this. Enjoy every moment with them, I know you do💕

I think it's great you are letting them go or stay home for school. Homeschool isn't for every kid just like public or private school isn't for every kid. I have a friends who let her oldest go to school but her younger kids she homeschools. Will you let your youngest try school when he gets to kindergarten/1st grade? Good job and hope you get your groove soon!
@itsmekassidee Жыл бұрын
Yes we will! We know there are pros and cons and want the kids to experience it and see it for themselves, as well as our school has a wonderful and amazing reading team that has helped my kids grasp reading so amazing! We plan to send our youngest at least through first grade but he is only 3 so that’s a ways away
