lilian makori indeed! Many relationships and even marriages dissolve because a lot of men aren’t willing to stand up to their mothers for their women/wives. Some can’t differentiate between being disrespectful and tactfully settings boundaries. So they automatically believe defending their women/letting their mothers know the place their women hold in their lives is disrespect. And others simply aren’t man enough to approach their mothers in any way.

And that would be the right way...but most women would be like the goofy soon to be wife🤷‍♂️ she said (I know how she feels because I'm a mother)🤯🤯🤯 I'm thinking so what. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Also I noticed she was cool with the mama not apologizing but she expected him to🤔🤨how does that even make sense...so the person that wronged you doesn't have to apologize but I need to apologize to the person because you dont like how what I said to (them) makes (you) feel🤨 women want men to be weak and confused.

People have been so conditioned to never say anything to their mom. Because you are being disrespectful. But in reality a lot of mom's are the toxic and disrespectful ones. She didn't want to acknowledge her son as a man. And kept getting in his way. It was good that he finally said something to her.

I love this scene. They were both right. He was right to defend his fiancee. She was right to encourage him to not sever his relationship with his mother. His mother realized she was wrong and apologized. Communication is so important in building long lasting marriages. They needed to get this straightened out before walking down the aisle.

She should've thought about that before she treated her son's fiance like trash. Just because she's your mother, it doesn't mean that she's always right and shouldn't be questioned. When you become an adult living your own life, you understand that. She deserved that dis-invite.

I was quite shocked at her decision. Usually scene this would end with the mother being left feeling guilty and excluded from the wedding, while they go off marry against her wishes. The guy was a man to stand up for his fiancee like that, but he was wrong to exclude his mother like that, a woman that worked hard to raise and provided for him. I love his fiancee's decision. If this happened to me, I honestly would never thought to call off the wedding. Honestly, the world, and me in fact, could learn a thing or two from this scene.
@Lone_Wolf91
@Lone_Wolf91 6 жыл бұрын
bresea702 I don't think Michael was wrong to exclude his mother from the wedding because yeah she did work hard and provide for him his whole life. However that doesn't excuse her actions in this movie and in the first one. Basically she's being selfish not wanting Michael to find love so she can keep him to herself. So I'd say excluding her from the wedding would help her to realize the way she's been and clearly that's exactly what happened here.

There’s always a line! that’s your mother. You love your mother. But mother’s make mistakes. She was wrong to speak to candice like that. Look she is Michaels Mother, That doesn’t mean she’s always correct. That mother is a human being too. The greatest mothers will never stop learning. That’s what’s wrong with African mothers sometimes. Pride it’s hard for them to swallow it. Michael stood up and was a man and he made the right choice, he taught his mother he’s no longer a mama’s boy and someone needs to take control if she won’t. I love his mother but I’m proud he stood up to her. That’s what’s called to be a man. That’s his fiancé! The mother won’t be in the world forever. He will take charge and show her he’s a true gentleman! Look 0:23 _”This mean, that’s not the woman that raised me”_ look at the face. She knows it

I think not...what he told his mother was correct. So what her being excluded hurt her🤷‍♂️ then act like an adult and measures like that wouldn't have to be taken. The only reason a woman would condone that kind of decision is because they want the freedom to talk to you any kind of way and not have any consequences or repercussions.

@@mariesmith9443 thats not an excuse or an explanation. His mother was dead wrong. It bothers me that she told him to apologize to his mom after he stood up for her. 'Being a mom' doesn't give you the right to treat people like that.

Thank you Jenifer Lewis. She exposed momster behavior. They act perfect in public, but they are abusive behind closed doors. Jenifers character seems to be mentally stable, because she actually apologized. Some parents are just overprotective.

I see a lot brothers and sisters disputing about parental entitlement and how men should also learn how to stand in their ground. I got married recently and something similar happened to me with my mother. She barely talks to my wife and we recently had a son and she expects a red carpet every time she comes over and thinks building a relationship with my wife is by calling me and asking how she's doing while before we got married they were closer. Pride is poison to situations like this. Protective over your child I understand but accept the fact that your child is growing too and you NEED to respect that because if not he will also distance himself from you and nothing is more heartbreaking than a son losing that woman that use to shower him with love.

Not necessarily, a wife is something to be valued and obtaining one is a sign of God's favor. There can be MANY women, but a wife is something different! She is the spine and support of the family. When a man takes a wife he leaves behind childish things ( mommy's teet). You and your spouse should become ONE! This is the natural order
