The thing with that fire flower and munchers level was that when you play online multiplayer, grabbing a power up only stops your character, not the whole game, whereas it does freeze the whole game for a moment when playing offline which is why the goomba hits you; because it keeps going . The creator must have not intended for the way online works which is why it’s so difficult to do in online multiplayer

One potential strategy for the last level is run, crouch, jump, and keep spamming the fire ball button from the start of the level to the end so you could possibly kill the paragoomba once you get the fire flower.
