To be fair to Brooklyn after I uploaded and was checking the final draft of the video, I noticed that The Sun article title was misleading. It was written to look like a quote that she said when she did not say those words. There isn't much more to it than that though as the article is about a whole 11 sentences. I would also like to clarify that the stuff about confidence was not stated by Brooklyn. It was stated by the Snapchat video. What's Tat was the one who made that incredibly dumb statement. I'm not sure if I made that clear enough. Brooklyn (the first girl) did say that she is exercising and losing weight in responds to some of the comments she got because of the What's Tat video. However, she did not mention how much weight she had lost and she constantly forces her head forward to stretch her neck and hide her double chin in videos so I'll believe that she is losing weight when I see it. Now I'll wait for everyone to make a bunch of AI jokes about me that I completely invited in by making fun of the AI voice in the Snapchat video.

Get a tattoo in hopes of hiding something they could easily hide without all the ink on their skin, but ends up getting a tattoo in a place that draws even more attention to it and has people noticing the area around their chin(s) even more. “Gee golly gosh I don’t know why people are noticing this thing and making comments about it.”

I agree, i'm well above normal BMI myself and the popular voices of the fat acceptance movements (actually i refuse to call it acceptance even - it's enabling) is one of the worst things you can do to an overweight person. If they take you at face value and your words help them continue defining themselves by their weight, ignoring the real catastrophe that will be their physical health (and psychological) and enable them to continue down that path, you are endorsing a long drawn-out death or disease process that i wouldn't wish upon anybody, that would make you a malignant enabler. An analogy i can think of would be if you had the same tone towards broken alcoholics, ("it's ok it's your body and you're beautiful even if you down a liter of rum every day and can't function in the slighest sense, i'm proud that you aren't letting the world get to you and that you are comfortable with yourself"). It's one thing to not define people by weight and treat people like the rest and with the same respect and another to encourage people to go down a path of ultimate self-destruction in the guise of "acceptance".

Nah. I considered my tattoo designs for some considerable tome before I committed to having them. I had an idea, showed my chosen tattoo artist my idea and he customised it for me. It was a step by step process and ensured I have ko regrets. My reason for having the artwork is not a knee jerk reaction to having a double chin! I understand when people have tattoos to cover scars, scars cam be a negative reminder of an event in their life so they customise the area with art. I don't understand that being fat with a double chin is a reason to make the chin look smaller and have a neck tattoo. In this case, the lady's chin looks no smaller. She does however have some nice artwork on her neck though.

We no longer bring stuff into the house like sugary pop or sugary cereal. We all noticed that portion control is an issue in our home and began making less food for meals. Guess what happened? I’ll give you a hint. None of us need a neck tattoo to “cover up” a double chin.

I just remember this one coworker of mine. She's honestly one of the laziest coworkers on my custodial team. (She'll literally do crochet work in the break room instead of cleaning her assigned building). One day, she mentions that one of the other coworkers gave her grief for not wearing the collared shirt for work (we usually have to wear these as uniforms for work during days like graduation ceremonies, spirit weeks, etc.). Anyways, she said that she found out a way to cheat the dress code. What comes next is some of the most ludicrous sidestepping of a policy I've ever heard of: "So what I do is cut off the collar off of one of my other collared polos and simply sew it onto another t-shirt. There, problem solved." Now I usually have a long fuse at work, and I don't tend to be so dry with any of my coworkers. This was one of the exceptions. "Y'know, if you put as much effort into doing your job instead of bypassing a situational dress code, you might actually go somewhere." And the "OHHHHHHH" that occurred from my coworkers just absoluted pissed her off. She found me after that and asked if I wanted to be on her bad side. "Hey, if that's what it'll take to get you off your rump, then sign me the heck up." Seriously, people. Fix your problems. And this goes for both genders. Bending the rules doesn't solve anything.

"It's not up to others to judge" Your right, your completely right. The problem is, you put yourself out there on public social media. You are trying to create an audience based on your image. Thus making it up to others to judge. How do you think someone decides if they want to watch and support someone? Do you think that would fall in-line with "judging?" Of course it does. They judge who you are and what you represent and thats how you gain their support. You cant put yourself in the public sphere and say people cant judge or criticize you, its not how that works.

A minor example would be women learning to love the changes that occur to their bodies as a result of pregnancy & childbirth. However it wasn't just OK to say your stretch marks were a beautiful battle scar of life without overweight people trying to hijack this acceptance for their mistakes- Or offending someone who wasn't born female.

I'm from Mexico City, as a mexican I have always been a big fan of soda but I managed to stop drinking it with one simple trick (doctors hate it ;)), I started doing lemonade. Yup, every two or three days I make a big jug of lemonade that I keep in the fridge. I do use sugar, but it's absolutely minimal, with time you get used to using very little sugar, the drink being cold and all is very refreshing. I understand lemons/limes are not as cheap everywhere as here, yet I do recommend this tactic to get rid of bad habits, just have at hand a good replacement for your bad habit. As long as it is at hand it helps a lot. Edit: Just a heads up, if you drink lemonade like me you have to give it a rest from time to time, lime is acid and your body has to rest from it at least every 6 months or so. Drink water for 2 to 4 weeks.

For us up in the frozen northlands, switchel is a pretty good alternative. I do 1 cup vinegar, 1-2 cups sweetener (sugar, brown sugar, honey, or molasses), about a thumb or two of shredded ginger, and some berries if they're in season to a gallon of water. Let that sit out overnight, then refrigerate. Beats the pants off sodas and Gatorade.

I’ve earned a living as a professional tattoo artist since 1997 and opened my own shop in 2005. At this point I’ve tattooed thousands of people and not once have I had anyone ask if they thought a neck tattoo (or a tattoo on any other part of their body) would make them appear more slim. Getting a tattoo can definitely give one a slight confidence boost, but it definitely shouldn’t be used to repress any issues with self worth. Things like that need to be meditated upon and gotten to the bottom of so you can heal and figure out what GENUINE productive changes you can make to be and feel better. A gold dipped turd is still a turd.

@@NewStarConstellation no problem! I won’t discount the initial confidence boost, and there is way more nuance to why people get tattooed than what (generally right leaning (and I’m right leaning haha)) critics generalize a lot of times. But that excitement is novel, it’s like how you feel when you get a new car, after a month you’re over it and you are still the same person with the same problems at the end of the day. I don’t think pampering oneself once in awhile or vibin on yourself in a “you go girl” sense isn’t fun or healthy here and there, but that veneer of confidence if not understood for what it is will leave you feeling empty and worthless if that’s what you rely on as your sense of self.

@@jmgmetal Again, I agree totally. As someone with experience with people with mental health problems I can totally relate to that; it's as simple and true as that. Seems you are a good observer and /or have experience in psychology. Does this come with being a tattoo artist? Serious question.

I've never had a problem with Tattoos, hell a bunch of friends of mine have a ton of them but I always figured it's best to maybe get one or two on places like your arm, chest or leg as just a form of expression. Getting one specifically to hide rolls you can get rid of with exercise is just dumb and needlessly expensive.

I got off all added sugars on September 7. I don't crave it at all anymore. I've been craving an apple actually! The yellow kind (red are gross lol to me anyway). Can't wait to go shopping later and get some! Also kids are getting fatty liver disease from sodas--that used to be considered an adult disease because the only people who got it were alcoholics. Additionally kids are getting type two diabetes, which used to be called 'adult onset diabetes' but no longer can be because of the high rates of kids getting it. Sugar is so pervasive now that it's the filler in like 95% of processed foods.

It’s called Capitalism. Companies don’t have to gaslight you. They just sell to what trends. It doesn’t even matter where you lean politically. They just rebrand and sell to the bigger market. You think if everybody decided to eat healthy Pepsi would go out of business. Laughable they probably already own water and healthy drinks and they will just come out with something people are trending to buy. Look at what happened to cigarettes companies when vapes became popular. The age increase for cigarettes yet they still profitable. Capitalism is a monster.
