You should just let your fans come visit. Just recommend a hotel close to you. Charge a fee to take out a group. The fee should cover your fees and expenses and time. Single ppl will like it. There is a change station “centro de cambio” near the lake right by city hall. Their return rate is about 2.5 pessos more per dollar than the banks or airports. Airports will pay you 16p per $. This location will give you 18.5p.

Hi Linda, thanks for the message. I have a friend that is on many medications and he has been doing fine for years. I looked up Expats diabetics in Mexico and I found this. Hi Moreto, People in Mexico manage diabetes the same way they do in other countries of the world. There is a very high incidence of diabetes in Mexico. There are board certified doctors in Mexico who are very well prepared to treat diabetes. In general, the cost for medications in Mexico is 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost in the US. I think that the entire staff is bi-lingual. You might give them a call and ask the question to them. Should you have a Mexican bank account , you can do lots with your phone. Have a virtual credit card out of your actual credit card , you can generate a bar code so the atm reads it and gives you the money you generated the code for and also you Can generate a QR CODE to pay with your phone .i guess even your American bank can offer those security methods , nowadays and specially because of the pandemic nobody touches your card and even to pay you have to write a security code by Heart so it won’t be duplicated

I don't think I will ever have a Mexican bank Account. My wife's mother had a Mexican Bank Account, she is a Mexican. The bank shut down and her mother lost $75,000 US and she could do nothing about it. There ya go

@@BillDallasLewis dont know what bank you are referring to . There are marvelous illusion banks all over the world that offer too much money to be true. Most banks are already bought by other countries , Banamex is Citibank , BBV is from Spain in several countries , HSBC is also known worldwide the only serious Mexican bank left is Banorte and you don’t need to open it with all your million of dollars . I suggest you to watch this Mexican banks issue on the KZbin channels “Two Expats in Mexico” , he is very el informed and May give you a less narrower perspective and the benefits of having one , just saying

I do all of my business on line. I have Telmex internet and Telcel internet, both are at 20 meg. In Guadalajara I had 200 meg. 20 Meg has worked just fine for my business. I´m surprised. It will be a bit more money, but you can people watch there and meet people and make friends everyday, and there are markets and all that you can want without a car. I brought my car from the US. If you bring a car make sure it was not made in Japan. If it was made in Japan you can’t get plates. I have Mexican insurance. I have a US insurance with Gyco. I can turn it on and turn it off for US travel.

Why do you keep using ATM machines? Why don't you go into the bank and take out what you want from the teller? There's no limit on teller withdrawals, is there? I'm assuming that if you live in Mexico you would have opened an account at a Mexican bank.

You should carry a COPY of your passport, one Credit Card with enough for a plane ticket, and cash for emergency purposes, because you never know what is going to happen. You may not make it back to the hotel, etc., in an emergency. Leave the original documents in the safe but you have to have ways to identify yourself, support yourself in an emergency.

It’s hard to find a rental in Chapala where I can walk everywhere. Did y’all buy everything in Mexico? That is a very good question I had one bank and they were charging me 13 dollars every time I took money out of the bank. I changed banks and my present bank charges nothing. Talk to your bank Happy holidays Bill the Grek

Hi Susan, thanks for the question. Transportation? When I first came down here, I was in Puerto Vallarta for 10 years. The first 6 years, I didn't have a car. I lived in Old Town, about 5 blocks from the beach. I walked everywhere. I was so beautiful, that I didn't mind the walks. If I needed to buy a lot of stuff, maybe from Costco, I would go in.a cab. A cab would cost at that time about 40 pesos one way, round trip at that time was $4.00 US. I lived on a steep hill for three years. Every day I would walk to town down the hill, buy stuff, and get a taxi back up the hill. If you live in Puerto Vallarta, Chapala, or Ajijic and you live in the city or town, you can do without a car. Puerto Vallarta, Chapala, Guadalajara and Ajijic have UBer, the taxi people. They are great in Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara, but can be slow in Chapala and Ajijic. For long trips, their are great buses that are really clean and cheap. A bus trip from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta used to be about 500 pesos, or $25.00 US, that's a five hour drive. These buses have wifi, and free movies and nice bathrooms. I have a car now, I don't need it, but It's nice to have. I hope that helps, Best, Bill the Geek.
