Thinking About Streamlit's Real Competition • Big Data & AI Vlog

7 months after being acquired by Snowflake, where is Streamlit going, what are its future competitors and is it still worth learning?
I tried vlogging the Big Data & AI Paris Event last month. It did not go as well as planned, but I got the opportunity to talk with some Snowflake engineers. I slowly realized how exciting the Snowflake/Streamlit combo is, but it also got me thinking about Streamlit's new place in the market as a Cloud data app solution in the future Data Marketplaces. This new market brings new competition, which are all the solutions you can choose to learn to deploy and share data apps in the cloud in the next 3 years. Here are my random, not much structured thoughts about it. Time to prepare for the future!

Hi Fanilo, great content as usual! I personally don’t fully agree on the idea that Streamlit/Hydralit cannot shape more advanced apps. In that regard, at the startup I work for, we managed to create a fully-fledged BI app, that I would be happy to demo to you, to further share ideas on the topic!

Isn't Datalore more akin to a JupyterHub or RStudio Connect? I'd see them more on the collaborative Data Science side than the deployed in the Cloud data apps. What do you think?

@@andfanilo if you see St as a framework for web apps, then yeah. But if it's just a tool for sharing reports/DS projects, then Datalore is targeting the same market. Anyway, I'm very excited to find your channel and very sad that I haven't found it earlier, because for last several months I'm struggling to "hack" streamlit standard functionality, and you answered most of the questions I had and tried to dig from forums and articles. So HUGE Thank you for your content!!!!!
