I'm actually surprised none of the spiders bit Mack. There's usually the one spider who gets easily scared of something unusual underneath it and bites whatever's unusual. Also, if you're afraid of failing again while attempting the same one you fail at before, you start to lose concentration and eventually repeat the mistake that caused you to fail. Same with attempting a challenge. The more you're afraid of failing a challenge, the less likely you concentrate on the challenge. Mack was so afraid of messing up the umbrella cookie that he tried to go fast to save time and became reckless, especially on the star cookie. I know I'm putting analysis over psychological activities in Mack's brain, but it effects all of us when we do some sort of challenge.
