Glaring omission is whether this card allows tracking on a map or is it just useful when you are within Bluetooth range ??

I could have talked more about that; but it does show its last known location on the map regardless of Bluetooth. For playing the sound you need a bluetooth connection, which is similar with the majority of Find My products.

Same dimensions as a usual bank card. Thickness of two cards stacked together.

Only Apple products (like AirTags) have the Ultra Wide Band technology which precision tracking (where the arrow directs you to the item). All third party Find My products are like this wallet tracker, you can make it beep, see it’s last know location on the map (which is updated when other iOS devices pass by it). Long-winded, but hope that helps. Happy to answer any other questions.
