I want to say a huge thank you for sharing this video and the previous one. I have semi free form locs as well. 4 years of growth and my new growth is pretty much an Afro on top of my locs. I was so close to flying to the US to see Yannie to try and find a solution. I tried this method on a few locs while watching your videos and it’s absolutely perfect. Especially in this summer heat. I can now braid this Afro bush back into my locs. The internet is a wonderful place. Thank you again for your contribution to humanity.

You’re very welcome! I’m glad they were helpful. Yes, that method is absolutely clutch. I love it! Thanks for taking the time to let me know 🙏🏾🙂

Me too. Not a 'trace' of a part and avoid locticians that would thin out my hair in attempting that. I always have an afro just below my locks - constantly. The advantage is that if cut my locks (as I did before) I have a short 'fro ready to go!

😂 Riight?! 😂 You gotta laugh or you would be frustrated. And way to find that silver lining in the cloud with the fro. So true!🙂👌🏾

I too braid my 'new' growth after it grows out. Less stress on my hair (as appose to palm-rolling etc). I do it upon damp hair to reduce breakage.

Nice, yeah, I usually palm roll after braiding the new growth in. It’s all a matter of how delicate you are with it! Thanks for sharing 🙂🙏🏾

No kidding, I accidentally discovered the braid technique last week when I got frustrated because one of my locs was about to fall out with plenty of new growth right there. I decided to braid it in and its still holding...I thought I created something lol turns out it actually helps THANK YOU!!!!1

You’re welcome! Yeah, I learned about it from Yannie the Locologist! It really is an amazing technique and has saved several of my locs 🙂🙏🏾

This is how my hair looks like I’ll even go month or month an half without retwist and I still have 1 or 2 dreads that has thing base

Yep, that’s the nature of the beast, unfortunately 🙃😞🙃

Where do you get these hats from and are they satin lined? I need this in my life.
@AtreyuLocs3 жыл бұрын
I make mine and no they’re not satin-lined. That’s why I always say I where a tam/satin bonnet combo 😂

What product do you recommend for maintenance for hair that grows away from the loc? I know that might depend on your hair type but could you recommend something for the different hair types?

I don’t recommend products

Yeah, I’m sorry. If you really can’t wait, you can always blunt them with a very small crochet hook.
