In this episode of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the 3rd Battle of Panipat, in which Ahmad Shah Abdali defeated Sadashiv Rao. This was the defeat which opened the way for the English’s invasion in India. Ahmad Shah Abdali planned to attack Marathas, when they were busy at the south where Nizam was a challenge for them. This proved a big mistake of Marathas to fight at two ends simultaneously. Cold weather, blockage of arms and ration supply also were the countable reasons due to which Marathas couldn’t resist Afganis.

Marathas lost Panipat because of ignorant Peshwa in Pune who dispatched more non-combatants than Maratha army to north. Peshwa was over-confident for defeating the Afghans and replacing Mughals in Delhi. His son was about to put on Delhi throne and a large number of non-combatants were brought to change the demography of Delhi.

हर हर महादेव.. भाई.. इतिहास को one side कभी नहीं रखना चाहीए.. अब्दाली ईतना हिंदुस्थान के अंदर तक आ गया...फिर उत्तर हिंदुस्थानात से कोई राजा...महाराजा ...अपनी धरती मां के लिए .. अब्दाली के सामने क्यों खडा नहीं रहा...क्या मरने का डर था मराठा फौज तो यहां महाराष्ट्र में उदगीर में दिल्ली से दुर १६५० कि.मी पर थी.. आप कहते हो..लढने का तजूरबा नहीं था.. तजूरबे वालो पर ..तो शाही डाग था.. यही शाही डाग मराठो कों..निकालना था.. ऊसी लिए..हाथ में...भगवा ध्वज लेके तुरंत निकले ते मराठा.... आगे कितनी फौज की तादात है उससे मराठो को कोई फरक नही पडता... १७ साल के विश्र्वास राव की आयु से...भाऊ की आयू गीन लो...क्या फरक पडता... मराठों को सिर्फ एक राजा ने उत्तर भारत में मदत की...राजा अलासिंह...मदत वो ...रोटी के रूप में थी...आज भी हम एहसान मन है ऊस रोटी का.. लेकीन वो भी ... मकरसंक्रांत के पुर्व आठ दीन बंद हो गई... हालात खराब हो गई.. अब्दाली से जादा...भुख और ठंठ खतरनाक बन गयी... पेठ भुका था...फिर भी एक हाथ में भगवा और एक हाथ में तलवार थी..मुहं में हर हर महादेव...का जयकारा था जिसकी नीव... छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज में रखी थी.,... खैर लिखने के लिए तो बहुत कुछ है बस आपने ...ऊतरी भारत ने वक्त पे भगवे ध्वज का साथ नहीं दिया अभी भी आप व्हिडोओ में आप बताते हो की...लढने का तजूरबा मराठो मे नहीं था.. ईसकी की एक मराठा होने के नाते आपकी नींदा करता हुं... जय शिवराय

Abdali took thousands of maratha women as hostage along with lot of Indian treasure and was taking them to Afghanistan after winning panipat battle , but when jassa singh general Ahluwalia heard about that he decided to attack on him on his way to Afghanistan and they got all maratha women released and send them back to their homes with safety.

When Maratha army was marching towards Panipat at that time Peshwa got married with a ten years old girl. Then he took family women with him to visit pilgrimage places. He did lots of charity to Brahmins at such pilgrimage places so his treasure became empty. So troops starved . He reached very late on Panipat bettle field.
