Actually Matt, he is singing this acoustically , its not that he does or doesnt have the range anymore, its just the way he is singing it! Artists often get bored with their own material after singing it over and over again, but folks still want to hear it,and quite frankly, he couldnt get away with playing out and Not doing this tune. so they tend to change it up a bit to help keep themselves interested.

@GavinMichaelBooth yes, thank you. Im very aware of what acoustic means. I'm referring to the vocals. With acoustic and live performances the vocals aren't enhanced with studio production, and he cant hit the same notes live/acoustic that you hear in the produced tracks.

@MGStoltzfus she's also only a vocalist who doesn't write any of her own stuff so it's literally the only thing she has to offer, whereas this guy - and rock music in general - is much more about the songs than the technical skill of the singer (bob dylan anyone?) - it would be impossible for him to sound like hers and still do everything from playing his own instruments to writing his own music to producing his own work - plus, she had a "better" voice to begin with in terms of natural skill.
