I love the Stargate TV shows. A funny scene, I just remembered, is where T'Ulc, trying to establish an inconspicuous live on earth, throws a can of food to stop a robber. I can appreciate the aesthetic and fascination for the technology of motorcycles and automobiles and agree, that the older ones have a lot going for them, in the design department. It is also nice, that repairing the old ones is easier. Although the modern ones have efficiency and safety features going for them and the tech is also fascinating. That said, my favorite car, is not having one. Long range traveling by public transport, primarily train, is much more relaxing and time efficient, if you consider the fact, that you can comfortably work on the train, watch KZbin, have a nice talk with somebody, or do other stuff. Not caring about fuel prices or expensive car insurance, not paying or looking for parking spaces or dealing with expensive repairs, and so on, is also very nice. For short range stuff a cargo bike is healthier, cheaper, more practical, and better for the climate and clean air in my town. Because of less hassle with parking and dense traffic, shopping by bike is often faster than by car, if you live in a typical European town or city. If I need to transport more, I use my bike trailer. And when I get too old to pedal myself, I will just slab a small electric propulsion onto my bike, or change to an E-bike ... or trike, if I loose my balance. Renting a van to move bigger stuff, every couple of month to years, does not cost much, either. My local hardware store offers a deal to rent heavy duty vans for a very low fee, if you buy something there. Bicycle tech can also be as interesting as car tech. E.g. mine has a 14 speed hub gear. It works by nesting 3 planetary transmissions into each other, providing 14 transmission ratios, with no transmission ratio overlap. I had problems with other bike transmission types, breaking fast in the past, but that one is reliably working for 20 years, now. It is a pretty impressive piece of tech.

I can absolutely respect the heck out of all of your comment! Im a fan of the Not Just Bikes KZbin channel and I tend to agree with many of the sentiments here. I'd take public transit if I lived in an area where it was feasible. And unfortunately the US is terrible with walkability and even bikeability. And public transit! I am looking to get a decent bicycle as my work commute is 8 mins. But we shall see!

@@WafflesGamesProbably Agreed. There are more rural regions and countries in Europe, were the situation is more like in the US. Assuming I would live there or in the US, I most likely would need a car, too. Assuming I would have lived all my live in such a region, I would probably also have more of a relation to cars and thus want one. After all, we are all influences by our upbringing and living circumstances of previous years and develop an interest for some of the things we need to use everyday.

Love the footage of Waffles on the bike (I'm assuming with 80% certainty). Nice choice on the bike, classic. Speaking of cars, my first car was an '08 Pontiac Grand Prix; used from my uncle. That thing was so luxurious for a regular people car. Sadly, by about 2013/14 Gustav (his name) was having trouble starting and the cabin fan was no longer working. Not worth it to fix. Was so sad when Pontiac announced they were closing down. I would have been a Pontiac driver for life.

I looooved the designs of old Pontiacs! Such a good brand. I feel similarly about some Mazdas. Good brand in my experience. And yeah the bike footage was my own and it looked SO good!

Seems you lucked out and that last position wasn't changed by the Ashlands update (this was the problem btw, you'd used Hildir's map before the update happened which changed map gen a bit). Usually this would be where I lamented the lack of ignoble Waffles deaths, but I have a funny feeling there might be a few coming in the next episode! 😉

Ashlands update changed Hildur quest locations. It changed up boss locations too. I had found Yag vegvisir early on and had marked the boss. Then me and my friend went there and there was nothing. I didn’t mark the vegvisir, so I had to go find that again😅. It gave a completely different location.

7:40 - 180k miles? Just broken in! My 2010 Toyota has over 400k. LOLOL 11:15 - Manual transmission all the way!

400k on a Toyota is like 150 on most other brands! Haha it was about that time for my car. I'd rather preempt catastrophic failures than have to rush to find something new after dealing with the chaos of a breakdown.

OMG, I don't even know where to start! Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie. Fight me! Also, Nissan peaked in the 90's, and their Jatco CVTs (Continuously Variable Transmission) are absolute trash. Avoid like the plague! Also, I love stick shifts, though I haven't had one in a LONG time. My last one was a Nissan, actually. A '96 Infiniti G20t, to be exact. I miss that car...

Hah! Yeahhh I hear the CVT was fraught with issues and not all have been solved. I didn't personally have any problems. My 2008 was fantastic. But it was getting really up there in mileage and I felt like preempting any catastrophic failures vs reacting in haste.

Tools to do an oil change? A 12-17mm socket (depending on the model) and something to drain the oil into. Some rags around for the inevitable mess. edit: 😭😭😭

Talk about cars more than food. Get me just as "..." as when you both talked about that 69. Nice. Rather hear you talk about cars than food...although your food talks are always great. Glad you chose Nissan over Hyundai. Nice choice.

Hyundai has been making strides in design lately. Same with Kia. But they don't retain much value and generally aren't the most reliable options. Mazda is the best of all the worlds for me. I mainly got it because of the design and simplicity inside.
