I remember an older gentleman that mentored me when I was a kid. He’s always sing this to me since my name is Marcus. And he’d always remind me I’ll be someone great. I hope to make him proud and not let him down. Big up yuhself Willie 🇯🇲✊

I remember seeing the real video for this as a kid in Jamaica. I wish I could find it on here. The people from the voices were in the actual video and some of the voices are: Mutabaruka; Barbara Gloudon; Neville Willoughby; Barry G; John Wakeling; Big Youth; Junior Reid; Half Pint; Elaine Wint-Leslie; Francois St. Juste; Black Uhuru; Tomlin Ellis.

I wonder who are those 4 little beauties in green at 6:24? I would like to know who they are now. I was about that age myself when this song came out.

I wish the uploader had captioned the names of the speakers. I can remember some of them, but some of them slipped my mind. Beautiful song, so much memories.

Hi Manaseh. I saw your reply to my question on the Mystic Revelation post you made. Thanks for replying. I see you've uploaded some more from the Tribute album :-). Yeah, this song is very educational. One of my favourite MG quotes is 'the ends you serve that are selfish will take you no further than yourself, but the ends you serve that are for all in common will take you even into eternity'. That says it all. Going back to the Tribute album, have you heard Fred Locks' original version of Black Star Liner and if so do you prefer it to Carlene Davis' version? I prefer the singing on Carlene's version, but the music on Fred's version.

Blessings Sol Jah , MG quotes are quite inspirational ! ..and yes I know Fred Lock's original version of Blackstarliner, like you I prefer Carlene Davis version. But I love Fred Locks music ,I consider him a legend ! . Blessed luv Sol Lajh
