Can’t believe you’ve had to ask people to respect your privacy! I’m finally meant to be going on my first placement soon and I’m so keen to finally be able to apply some stuff. Thanks as always for sharing your journey with us 💜

It's so good to see you doing so well! I can't believe your actually gonna qualify soon, that is so exciting!! I just wanted to ask what the score is about your placement, will you still be able to graduate if you can't get onto placement because of Covid? Our placement has been cut down by 10 weeks and we've been told we're going to have to squeeze in the hours next year, not quite sure how aha x

Crazy! I missed 300 hours last year so we are completing year 2 PADs alongside our year 3 PADs. Basically we can't fail placement because we haven't had to allocated time to complete it so if worse comes the worst we would add an extra placement block onto the end of our course I believe but I imagine it'd mean you would've qualify and graduate with the rest of the cohort, but I don't think anything is fully known at the moment. Hope uni's going okay! x

Got any questions, leave them below... Oh boy 🤣 After you've finished and registered, will you still be making videos? How do you do research modules? (seriously... it's like my lecturers are talking another language) Did you want to stay in student accom for the last year? Do the trust's not put you through your c1 as part of a "bonus package" or "relocation package" or basically as an incentive to work for them? Our placements are due to start in June and I'm absolutely BRICKING it! I keep making stupid little mistakes when doing my history like I'll ask if there is any change in medication but then completely disregard their answer and follow the SOCRATES. Any advice to stop being dumb 😅? It's good to see you back :) & sorry for all the questions

Good grief Rich! 😂 Making videos after I qualify is a difficult one, I don't really know what else I could give after that in terms of the degree. I have envisioned in the past that a montagey graduation video would be a brilliant end to this channel but then I've also got visions of flat/house purchases, moving into my own place video etc so who knows 🤷🏼♀️ My research module is a bit of a strange one. It's my dissertation module but we don't do a 10,000 word dissertation like other unis, ours is a literature review based off a topic of interest. You get given a lecturer as a supervisor and you've got a bit of free rein to look into what you're interested in and consult your supervisor as you go. I did a research module in second year focusing on mainly evidence based practice to set us up for this third year module and we chose a qualitative or quantitative article provided to us and had to critically analyse it for an essay. I don't think I really wanted to stay in accomodation any longer than a year but it was chosen based on practicality. There's plenty of free parking, it's a 10 min walk from uni and it just saved me a lot of hassle. I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit confused with C1's at the moment. My understanding is we do our C1 ourselves and then the trusts train you in emergency driving conditions but I could be completely wrong. 😂🤷🏼♀️ It's something I'm gonna start looking into over the next week or so. You aren't human if you don't make mistakes! I still make mistakes! As long as you show interest and participate placement will be brilliant for you! Some say to observe on your first shift but I'd get stuck in and do observations or anything you can, breaks the ice of placement ASAP that way. And also, sometimes I can't even remember the patients name let alone what they've just said to me! There's no harm in double checking their answer as long as it's done in a polite way, clarification is better than being sat their confused with what they've said. Good luck with placement, I'm sure you'll ace it! Thank you Rich for the continued support! 🚑

If you had the grades, would you have considered being a nurse or doctor?
@ItsLuceee3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I could be wrong but I believe grades for Paramedic Science and Nursing are similar. What drove me towards my degree is that you're never in the same place, there is time outdoors and it's just a better environment for myself rather than a hospital. Doctor or nurse have never been something I've had an interest in ☺️
