I would assume that the boyfriend/girlfriend have already talked about her taking photos that she doesn't want him to be in. They're just not likely to have that conversation in public. A lot of people in relationships have them consensually open to some extent or another. If she has a social media presence it's not uncommon for women (and men) to pretend to be single to help with their popularity, donations, etc. (There's also the opposite route of having a couples channel, but you don't want that unless your really sure about it being a long term thing). It's really best not to think too much about what the other people in the gym are doing ;p
