I just bought a Harley Benton. I started playing around with guitar about 2 or 3 months ago. The reason I got a Harley Benton is because, unlike a squire or epiphone(neither of which are bad guitars), I found that seeing my Harley Benton SC Custom (ESP Eclipse clone) just made me want to pick up the guitar and play more. And I think that is the most important thing for beginners like myself. Surround yourself with stuff that makes you want to play.

First off, I love your videos. Point of correction at 1:05 It's not a longer scale. The scale length is the nut to the saddle, hence why a multi scale has a nut slanted one way and bridge slanted the other causing the part of the string that vibrates out the note is longer on the bass strings and shorter on the treble strings.
@Furiora
@Furiora 4 жыл бұрын
Indeed, I got the point he was trying to make though; the string is longer, just not the "speaking length" of the string. the effect is most pronounced on a 7 string with an inline headstock. First 7 I ever played was an Ibanez GRG7 and the first thing i felt was how hard the high e was to bend compared to my 6 strings with the same 25.5 scale. I now own a Jackson RR24X-7 with a reverse headstock and not only is the high e easier to bend then my normal 6s, the low B is much nicer, I also thought the low B on that Ibanez was too floppy even at B, while I tune my Jackson's 7th down to A

ive bought already two of this guitar, the first cuz i wanted a cheap guitar for the rehearsal room, the second because its a damn great guitar ( and you never have enough guitars ) but both guitars have black nut, yours has a white nut ( and black nut looks so much better ) 3 things you have to do: 1) give it a lil bit fretboard oil ( as every fresh guitar needs some ) 2) install another spring in the back so the bridge stays in place and you dont have to worry about tuning 3) get a fret rubber an polish them so the frets feel smooth

Jamie Slays Just stylistic purpose really!
@wasichu66
@wasichu66 4 жыл бұрын
Uuuh, no. There is a reason for a reverse headstock. The scale length is indeed the distance between the nut and bridge. But within the same scale length, let's say a regular 25,5", if you have a reverse headstock there is a greater length of string on lower strings, between tuning peg and bridge, which requires more tension to reach the pitch, and it's the exact opposite for higher strings, which means lower strings are tighter which is good for rhythm, and higher strings have less tension, therefore are easier to bend and more comfortable for lead... and before anyone jumps and says "what about if you have a locking nut?", well, you tune to pitch BEFORE you clamp the nut, so it makes no difference to the mechanics of tension. And yeah, reverse headstocks look cool, too.
@definitelynotgore
@definitelynotgore 4 жыл бұрын
Christian I literally went to school for this, reverse headstocks do NOT affect tension.
@definitelynotgore
@definitelynotgore 4 жыл бұрын
Christian Ask a luthier, I can guarantee they’ll tell you the same thing. There’s multiple theories on why this is the case, but if you measure the tension it will be roughly the same across a normal headstock & reverse (obviously with smaller, random variables).

Not a floating bridge? This is very unusual. Surely it comes nailed hard because it's faster to do in the factory but it should be possible to loosen it and get it to float. It looks just like that of a Strat'. The 6 screws on the front need a little loosening too so some pivoting can be allowed, then loosening the claw screws will determine how high it can be pulled up.

Dude, you have way too much gain in your tone which saturates the distortion probably more than it should. It's almost like fuzz boosted with some overdrive on active pickups. Maybe that's the way you like your tone but the riffs you played could use some better chugging. Try dialing the gain down a bit on the amplifier (not on the od boost) to reduce the amount of squareness in the tone. That's generally where i find the sweet spot. But that's entirely my preference. Cool video and great playing. Keep it up.

Honestly, I think this is one of your better videos! It was long enough to be consistent all the way through and you were down to the point and you spoke a bit louder and clearer than what I've been a bi*ch about before xD All in all, good video! And I'm a bi*ch 🙃

Does the whammy bar work like a Floyd Rose bar (Double lock system)? When you can pull it up and do dive bombs? Also nice Gengar plush

You should do a video playing this and playing another “better” guitar through the same amp/amp sim to compare the two

I have heard that the older version has serious issues with keeping in tune, even w/o using the tremolo. How is it in 2020? I am thinking of getting this one...

Got one a while back, really enjoy it except _massive_ electric noise / humming (goes away if I touch metal parts / strings "a lot" - more than occurs during normal play). Dunno if that's just a QC thing and I got unlucky, might be fixable with a soldering iron and lots of KZbin wiring tutorials 🤔 At a glance everything looks okay inside it but...

its just a ground issue inside, an easy fix for sure, most likely lose ground wire or faulty soder
