Just seem that 10 seconds intro, with the car pulling and boosting up....you can understand from that 10sec, that an electric engine, will never give you that feelings and emotions...Sound, Smell, Vibrations, Acceleration force...that peace of old tecnology has so much moving parts that makes it special ❤️ the innovation of the engines is just to make the enviroment happy, not a car enthusiast's soul 🔥

Absolutely iconic hot hatch from my teenage years. I always wanted one. Just a classic along with Nova SRs/Renault 5 Turbo/XR2s etc. Then again if I'd had one it would have been stolen in the 80s and early 90s😂 Please get a Clio Williams on the channel. The absolute holy grail of hot hatches from 'back in the day' 🙏

@@russcattell955i Worth a pretty penny now! My friend had an '88 and a '91,bit boomy inside with creaky plastics, but always made you smile, back then a 6th gear would of been a good idea as very boomy inside! You had to almost shout at each other over 65mph on the motorway, most people used to upgrade the stereo to not hear the engine, but the alternators were'nt man enough 50-80amp on the petrols,so if you had radio on,wipers, heated rear screen when you came to a stop at junctions they used to conk out! I did some research in the parts department and found a diesel alternator with 120amp output solved the issues along with a heavy duty battery! The good old day's 😆

The 1.9 Mi16 engine was the one for N/A. A fantastic cylinder head that was really undercammed as standard due to how well it flowed with the standard valves sizes. Cams and throttle bodies gave a really nice increase with no engine work. It had the potential for huge valves and so much airflow. 300bhp was possible N/A but required regular rebuilds. The 2.0 is definitely better suited to a turbo application.

I have one and I prefer naturally aspirated because wheel spin would do my head in. I'm going for fast cams, throttle bodies and limited split diff. Car has been fully restored and has many rare parts. I've made mine using a special home made exhaust system which sounds like a v8 gargle you can only hear when inside the car. When throttle bodies are fited it will vastly increase that wonderful sound. Its a gem and nibleness is what I crave in cars and why I want the new Audi RS S3 soon.

Wow nice motor. I bought a used one about 27 years ago, a 1990 205 1.9gti. Had it for about 9 years, great car. Mine was in graphite which was the best colour, though this is a close 2nd, It was modified to 170bhp, lightened balanced, k and n filter, bilstein race x suspension initially but changed it a year later as whilst awesome was too hard for the road, changed it to eibach springs and koni adjustables which was softer setup. Tested at o to 62 using pro timing gear at 5.72 secs and over 150mph. This car must be nuts, people these days don’t realise how light these cars are , 890kg and wafer thin body with doors you can bend with your bare hands 😂. Awesome car.

Mate, lush! 🤩 Get power steering from a 106/saxo in it and it will be way easier to keep straight. That or an electric system from a corsa b 👌 Very light fwd’s still pull when the wheels are lit up as it’s still enough traction to drive you forward and not just burn out, that’s why they’re so fast 🙃

This was the car to have back in the day ‘97’ petrol @65p a litre : ) ruthless motors . Constantly had it on 3 wheels and still remember the lovely smell of fuel that emanated from the interior . Eventually lost it mid corner taking out a lamppost ! It was a write off . Had a few cuts, bruises and some serious whiplash but it dident stop me buying an Astra Gsi the following year 😝. Sex drugs and raving all came to an end in the early noughties for me. All I can say is It was the best time of my life and you just wouldn’t get away with the things now that we did back then. I think maybe I suffered from a bit of post traumatic stress disorder for years after from all the Gary’s . I’m a diesel family man now safety first .I drive a golf GTD now its not bad last year had the dpf off an got it mapped good solid car for daily . Still dream of owning another 1.9 Gti one day 👊

The reason it is pulling side to side is due to the unequal length driveshafts. What a car

I adored my modified 205 1.9 Gti. Most fun car I've ever owned. Once you get used to how they handle you can lift-off oversteer them nicely! This one though, is the ultimate 205!!!

Love the peugeot rallysport wheels. My 309mi16 was kicking out 220hp with twin 45's, and totally rebuilt engine using Jl pistons, silicon graphite liners, and billet catcams. Also ported/balanced etc. Not to mention the 4 branch manifold, quaife lsd, 300mm 4 pot brakes, and the skip brown roadspeed bilsteins. She was a unicorn given it was also miami blue in gti form. To say it was fun, would be an understatement. The 309 was much easier to handle, the 205 would go for the nearest hedge if you lifted off. Nowadays I drive a civic diesel pushing over 200hp, which catches quite a few out.

Absolutely love it 😍 , best colour IMO. Sounds angry and goes like stink . I love an OG hot hatch 💪 I drove a 309 1.9 GTi back in the day with some minor mods and that was pretty quick.

309 gti was and still is a very underrated car. All Peugeot’s in the late 80s and 90s were absolutely brilliant to drive 😍😍😍

An idea. At the end of every season, gather the top ten of each leader board, and battle. Quarter-finals, semi-final to the winner of every class, awd, fwd, etc.

Brings back memories of doing mi16 conversions. Awesome cars and that’s probably the one of the best colours. Quaife atb wiggle. They switch power to each wheel. Put a different diff in and would pull straight. You feel it more in light cars.

Very cool little thing, I had a white one with an Mi-16 engine but no turbo and a BE3 box from a 1.6 years ago. Fun times 😄 . Great to see one again, still looks sexy to me.
