This 2021 Cupra Formentor Is Silly Fast But Has THAT Sound! *First Drive | Review*

Here is the new Cupra forementor. The cupra forementor is so quick and a brilliant daily car. The cupra formentor is cupras first standalone product away from its traditional seat partnership. The Cupra formentor runs a 2.0 turbo engine but it has the same sound as the 2.5 engine. It is enhanced sound in the cabin similar to what i found in the new audi S3. It sounds great but its not a 5 cyclinder. HOWEVER, rumours state that a 2.5 5cylinder version of the formentor is coming so maybe the cupra formentor 2.0 is just a warm up for the main course. Either way this is a brilliant car and i love what cupra have done with this thing!

I've had 2, mk2 leon cupra and a 3.5 leon cupra, picking my formentor up this weekend.. i just wish the vz5 was coming to the uk, but i don't think it will and if it ever does it will be LHD only

Nice car Stef but it is similar to all the suv,s on the road now, with their annoying led headlights which always dazzle us saloon drivers as they are all too high in their set up, and even on dips are too bright (safety issues) there, it’s a pet hate of mine but never the less valid in my opinion. Tirade over Stef another very good and honest review, keep them coming👍👍👍

Yep the 5 cylinder Cupra Formentor was confirmed via the Cupra 3rd Anniversary KZbin live stream the other day. It's going to be called the Cupra VZ5 and will have 390ps.

I've ordered the 310ps VZ2 , just had an update that it is in production now , been waiting since November so might be here in the next month hopefully , it was held up because i ordered the pan sun roof and top view camera , not too happy about the wait but it's where we all are at the moment in this nuts world we are living in.

Another great review. Saw one in the flesh last week when I took my Cupra Ateca in for its first service. The Forementor is very colour sensitive, looks great in black but I saw it in a matt denim blue and it didn't work. Value wise it looks good with 306 bhp on tap and would be good on a PCP but I would worry about residuals, which I am with my current car! Not sure about this though from Cupra, it has some identity issues and piped engine sound which is a common theme now from most manufacturers isn't great (give me a flat six any day). I'd agree it has a lot going for it spec wise and the seats are brilliant (same in Cupra Ateca). The 5 cylinder could prove interesting but not sure if it was just a tease, looking at all the publicity they got driving around the "Ring". Love the brand, something a bit different and the Power Ranger logo grows on you. Keep up all the the good work with your great reviews. Looking forward to the next one.

Just ordered one on Monday. 4 month wait. I put all the extras on it except the Brembo brakes because in that case you would not get the spare tyre. In Estonia the final price came a little less than 41k euro. So yeah, good car and great value. Current car is 2017 cupra 300 4drive St.

@@astarfitness2182 I took the desire red as it is supposedly double coated or something and we have a lot salt on the roads in the winter. Also it is safer to get a bright colour like that. You are better seen on the road and thus making it a little safer as others see you.

Simply cannot believe that the 2.5 5cyl 385bhp version released later this year will ONLY be available as a left hand drive! What on earth are Cupra thinking not bringing it to the UK. Would be a very serious contender against the RSQ3. Shame on you Cupra, wasted the chance to have a true flagship car

Had the same pseudo 5 cylinder pumped in sound with my TTS. Sold the car after doing the NC500 as it was a bit soulless compared to the Abarth 124 or even my i30 fastback N. Pretty much the majority of the VAG cars i have owned seem to have numb steering. Is it better in this car?

I have this car in the VZ2 310 bhp version, yes it is very good but there's that infotainment system that's full of bugs and does some weird stuff like not letting you enter the car, or it can make random phone calls to even slamming the brakes on for no apparent reason whatsoever are just a few examples and the dealers can't fix the faults. VW know about this problem as it's a similar problem across their range of cars fitted with this infotainment system but the Formentor has many electrical niggles that need sorting, what are VW doing about it? Very little

Yeah whoooo hooo... Just got a VZ1 245 and even in launch mode boring and torque steer terrible. My last car was an A200d Merc. Stage 2 remap. 250bhp and 380ft/lbs torque. 0-60 4.9 secs. But..... 60 plus mpg. Going to miss her. On twisty roads, it would shame this Tormentor.

If it’s LHD only then Cupra shooting themselves in the foot. Most of the EU is bankrupt so won’t be selling many except Germany as France seem to want to banish performance cars
