In this video, I am reviewing a mini PC that comes with a dedicated GPU. This is a pretty interesting $300 mini PC with Intel Core i5-11300H CPU and GeForce MX450 Graphics, so after game testing, we'll see if it's worth it. Enjoy watching!

I know that if you had dual channel ram, the frame time graph would be smoother and you'd def see an increase in FPS, but overall this system isn't terrible for eSports and lighter games, I'm impressed. Good video!

This is cool - really cool. But the value of this thing would really jump if the MX450 here was a MX550 instead - for those unaware, it's one of the few in the MX series that supports NVENC encoding. This would be great for creative work, but the MX450 is fine if it's just light gaming. I might cop one

hey @Tech Closet, I have the exact same model. worked amazingly with games until some "expert" shop tech changed the thermal heat settings in BIOS and removed the M.2 heatsink.. could you tell me your thermal BIOS settings so I can correct mine?.. it's way different from other BIOS settings and no one I take it to knows what they're doing... AT ALL lol

Just a heads up you can over clock the crap out of most mx450s or mx gpus in general. Ive heard some say over clocking improves performance as much as 150%!!!! So def worth looking into. You also could just get a 4060 for cheap and build a diy egpu setup for cheap.

Maybe if it was like a mobile 1650 it’d be decent. You could also use an iGPU through the extra M.2 but I’d honestly rather get a mini PC with the latest AMD integrated graphics

Graphic performance of MX450 is not much different from the integrated GPU of the intel CPU -11300H CPU. So dedicated GPU is meaningless. It is just to deceive the user.

I would say the MX450 has a major real use advantage in comparison to the Iris Xe. That dGPU does get on par with Iris Xe (96EUs variant), but it has a dedicated VRAM advantage. Also, it can be used for CUDA related workloads despite it's weaknesses. According to NotebookCheck, it performs slightly better in gaming benchmarks as well. (max wattage variant ig) Still tho they could've fit a gtx 1050 for example there.

I was a bit disappointed in the dgpu as well. Compared to the 780m igpu in amd's latest apus the mx450 only does slightly better than half of the performance of the 780m.

@Nanosinxthe integrated graphics in modern Ryzen laptops are actually about on par with a lot of older budget laptop GPUs. The top end integrated Radeon 780m is about on par with the laptop GTX 1650 (the 780m actually beats it a little bit) and the Radeon 760m is about on par with a laptop GTX 1050 Ti.

I think "Mini PCs'' should have a Desktop CPU.....Making one using a laptop CPU in a small form factor doesn't provide much value as a laptop is a better choice at that point.
