Recently, Fisch Racing was kind enough to allow me to take their 1UZ V8-swapped Lexus IS300 out onto the street for a quick drive after indulging in some sideways fun a few months ago out at Mission Raceway. The only difference: we filled the nitrous tank this time! This 1UZ makes 290whp "all motor" and 380whp with spray. That's a fairly significant bump in power, especially when the car is holding massive angle halfway through a corner. In addition to a number of drift-specific products, Fisch Racing builds bell housing adapter kits for the CD009 to Rotary, UZ, JZ, LS, and soon RB engine applications. Enjoy!

@@Joshua_N-A it can, but it won't make any more power up there. They usually make peak power right around 6k. Cams and springs would be ideal for anything above factory redline. 7500 seems to be the safe limit for stock bottom end and intake manifold.

Not sure about Soarer but the Altezza is nearly 300lbs lighter than an is300. That's all engine, transmission and I believe the frame is slightly different to meet safety standards.

Does anyone have any tips when driving in the snow with these rear wheel drive cars? I've never driven one in the snow, but first is always an aggressive snow tire. Tires are #1. Other than that and the weight in the trunk, i'd say budget for two cars if you can. One summer, one winter :D

Don’t wreck an is in the snow but they have a snow mode and they do pretty well for rear wheel drive but I would not buy if you plan on it being your only car

Depends on how much snow. I live in the PNW and I drove in all seasons in a SC400 for a couple winters. Extra weight in the rear helps. Just drive for the conditions and you will be fine. My only issues was starting and "beaching" on high snow, a little more momentum solves that. Snow tires are highly highly recommended. All seasons 'work', but winter tires are obviously king on the snow.

Maybe because cars are more than power numbers. Engine characteristics and power delivery. He slightly touches on how, in his experience LS felt unresponsive compared to this 1UZ. Standard 2jzge require a lot of work to hold 550 and when you're at that power level on a turbo car they just aren't as responsive as a NA or Supercharged V8.
