The problem with all scooters is that they have small wheels. Bicycle wheels are gyroscopes. Their spinning helps keep them stable and upright. Larger wheels are more stable, smaller wheels are less stable. At relatively slow speeds, a rider can more easily control the lack of stability. At higher speeds, the lack of stability is extremely dangerous.
@allineedis1mike812 жыл бұрын
Scooters going that fast is dangerous but i dont think its because of the lack of gyroscopic effect. Those tires look pretty knobby for the street which is probably why he ate shit. Bikes and scooters stay upright because of geometry. More accurately because of the change in geometry caused by the rider moving the handle bars and shifting their weight. Its why you cant turn right without first turning the bars to the left. Its why Honda can build motorbikes that stand up standing still just by turning the bars without an internal reaction wheel, just sensors and actuators for the handlebars. It was believed for a long time that the gyroscopic effect of the wheels kept bikes upright but its effect is extremely small. Engineers have been doing experiments on bikes with tiny wheels for years trying to prove exactly how bikes work because of all the different theories. I think Veratasium or somebody made a video on it.

Plenty of manufacturer make 10" tyres for mopeds and under-125cc scooters. But they're falling out of favour with most moped manufacturers. For the simple reason that a 12" wheel is much more able to climb small obstacles. You saw how he almost wiped out on that loose tile looking thing, that's what happens when your wheels are too small. A regular moped scooter tyre is a 130/70R12. When you get up to 125CC it's mostly 16 and 17" wheels. Mind you even the twice as expensive Michelin tyres for a moped last maybe 10.000km, cheap ones last about 5000km. And if you do a lot of city riding, you probably won't make either because sooner or later you're gonna pick up a screw or some other piece of trash that punctures the tyre.

As someone that rides a scooter that can do 55 MPH I've only taken it about 40 max... because there is really no need to go faster, if you have a straight mile race track go for it I guess if you want to but on unknown trails or roads it is way to risky, there is no need for 75MPH, if you make a slight mistake it's game over... Thanks for showing what it can do though.

It might actually go 75mph. Most of the scooters I've seen come with preset speed cap at like 60%-70% of max speed. that 75mph figure might be maximum uncapped speed, but you need to raise the limiter in the computer settings.

Loved the video. the lie about the speed kind of pisses me off though because all of these companies keep exclaiming things that will only ever be able to be achieved under perfect optimum results... I hope people start pressuring these companies to offer the range of said vehicle along using whatever speed they calculate at.. meaning if they say they have a scooter that can do 75mph I want to know exactly how many miles I can go at 75 mph on your vehicle and how heavy the rider was during testing of range and power. No one travels at 1/3 to 1/4 of the power of the PEV especially if it's only 55mph... These companies are being a little disingenuous... no?

All they really need to do is advertise the 50% battery, max speed. I have a Wolf Warrior 11 and I've gone 58mph on a full charge. But it becomes harder at lower batter levels and voltages. Although that may have nothing to do with what we saw in the video (outright false advertising) this would still be a good way to advertise the proper speeds achievable.
@nanrobot5152 жыл бұрын
The original design speed of the LS7+ was 75 mph, which we have technically achieved. We invited a professional team to test the demo. This speed is really too fast, it will cause safety problems. Therefore, for safety and various reasons, we have decreased the speed limit program to limit the speed to about 55 mph,and we added the steering damper. Please note that 55 MPH is GPS measured speed not theoretical 55 MPH. Most of the speeds marked on the market come from theoretical speeds, and the idling speed of LS7+ can reach 85 mph. At present, if it can be fully charged and the accelerator is pulled all the way on an open road without stepping on the brakes, it can reach GPS 61 mph. Thanks for the video , please pay attention to safety when riding,always wear a helmet and protective gear.

@@stickyicky2858 I totally agree, it should be up to the rider to decide the level of risk we want to take. Take RION for example, their RE90 can theoretically do 100mph in perfect conditions though it's limited to 80mph, it's easy enough to override. Although to my knowledge nobody has ever even had it at 80, the option is theoretically there and if I as a rider choose to take that risk then on my head be it, as long as the company clearly states it is not advised.

@prosewat992 жыл бұрын
That is a dangerous thing for a couple reasons. People will treat it like a toy and not wear appropriate safety gear. Good god please wear gloves. With the small tire size you have a very small contact patch which means very easy to lose friction, as seen when he fell going slowly around a corner on dry pavement. The suspension is only a couple inches of travel, which means the wheels will lose friction with the ground if he goes around the corner and hits any kind of bump, which you will. Whoever buys this will have a very high incident of injury, he’s lucky to walk away with only a shoulder strain. That was a super low speed crash, like I said he is lucky. That steering damper is there cause of speed wobbles, or what they call on motorcycles, a tank slapper. That thing looks like a toy but it is gonna kill some people right quick who don’t understand the mechanism of injury when going 50 mph with shorts on cement. Looking at your own jagged leg bones sticking through your thigh is life changing. Stay away, death trap for sure. If you want to have fun get a motorcycle, way bigger contact patch, much better suspension and brakes, at least you have a shot of controlling the risk. That thing has tragedy written on neon all over it.

100% agree. I do have a high speed scooter and when I'm on sidewalks I slow down when there's pedestrians, and on the street I ride as if I was a car, I don't split lanes or do dumb shit like that. If I wanna pass cars I do it on a sidewalk or bike lane. And yeah if someone turns left, this guy is going straight to the hospital, emergency stopping in scooters requires quite a bit of skill and a really cool head. You need to shift your weight back a lot and be mindful of how much braking you apply to each wheel. If you just slam the brakes, as you're most prone to do in an emergency, you'll fly over the handlebars.

@@allgoo1990 in the U.S, where I live, there is either no regulation whatsoever, and if there is it's not enforced. As I said, as long as you're not doing anything dumb, people, including police, don't really take notice.
@MrFastFox6662 жыл бұрын
@@allgoo1990 yes, yes I do think it'll stay like that. For one, the government has way more important things on their hands right now that some reckless kids on scooters. As for street regulations, many streets in the U.S are built by the city or state, and streets such as the interstate highways are subsidized by the federal government. If a state fails to comply with federal regulations, they don't get federal funding for their highways, so there's a really high incentive. Cars themselves do have regulations, but that's a very recent thing. Cars as little as 15 years old are much much more dangerous, lacking even basic safety features such as ABS, that became mandatory in 2009, only 12 years ago. Cars have existed for over a century at this point. Also, everyone and their mom have cars, of course there's regulation. Scooters, on the other hand, are a relatively uncommon sight, and high speed scooters are super rare, I've only seen 2 out in the wild in my entire life. And even in the unlikely event that scooters do become regulated, it's not gonna do anything. Going back to cars, things such as flashing red lights, lifted trucks, or modified exhausts are straight up illegal, yet you see them all the time, in Florida you see lifted trucks ever 2 miles. Plus, if I'm a seller and there are suddenly regulations banning these scooters on the street, I'll just say they're for off-road use only, problem solved. Ebikes already have regulations and they don't do absolutely anything. I'm also aware of the dangers of E scooters, I didn't say anything about their safety, and it's news to absolutely no one that they're dangerous and you can die operating one. It is clear you're not from the U.S. Before making assumptions or comments like these, try to inform yourself a bit about any relevant topics.
