I was tossing up between the ST-L and the Ti and ended up getting a Ti because the back 2 seats are pretty much unusable for anyone under the age of 12 and I perfered the Ti interior, I still would've probably gone for the St-L price wise but I got an amazing deal on my Ti. I ended up getting a 2023 Ti demo for $46,990 drive away (it had done only 6000kms) but I think my Nissan dealership made a mistake with the pricing because it was way cheaper than any other Ti demo I've seen. Nevertheless I've now had it for 8 months and haven't had any issues. Fuel economy is amazing (around 7L/100kms on my average) and I haven't had any issues with the CVT and drivetrain. It's not the fastest car on the road but I never struggle to overtake trucks on the highway. Comfort and space is also very good and the infotainment/digital cockpit system is incredible. The biggest surprise was how much I use the heads up display and the digital rear view mirror, they weren't on my must-have list but it's great to have them. I was also impressed with the panoramic sunroof. The non-premium speakers are pretty good too. It ticks nearly every box in terms of features, the ProPilot semi autonomous driving is very well exicuted too. The only thing I wish this model had was ventilated/cooled front seats but it's not a deal breaker because the air-con can get freezing if you crank the settings. If you can splurge on the Ti that would be the one I would get but don't bother with the e-power version unless you need the extra acceleration & performance because the fuel economy is very similar to the gasoline version and the gasoline version doesn't need 95ron petrol unlike the e-power version. The vehicles in my shortlist were the Rav4, Cx5, Hyundai Tuscon, Kia Sportage & Subaru Forrester. I had put my name down for a Rav4 Cruiser Hybrid that I orderd in January of 2022 and still wasn't due for production until October 2023 so I decided to pull out because after a year of waiting... I had lost interest in that car and the interior of the Rav4 doesn't stack up to the rest of the competition. The Korean twins were too overdesinged for my taste, the subaru was a bit too boring to look at and the Mazda was probably my favorite car to drive but it was a bit too small and expensive for the trim I wanted. The reason I went for the Nissan is the more simplistic but very premium and spacious interior, the classy inoffencive exterior and the impressive and suprisingly capable awd system. It also felt a lot bigger than the other competitors and was a lot cheaper since they had demo models in stock at the dealership. Even though Nissan has a somewhat dodgy CVT reliability history I decided to give the X-Trail a chance and am extreamly happy with it. My Aunty has owned a T32 X-Trail ST-L since 2015 and hasnt had a issue with the cvt gearbox... or anything really, despite having clocked over 180,000kms. If you want a 7 seater that isn't too big but still has usable back seats, the Hyundai Santa-Fe is a great choice and isn't actually that much bigger than the X-Trail (it's about 10cm longer) but it has a much more usable 3rd row and it's a very nice car to sit in. The only thing is that it is technically in a bigger class of vehicle so it will be more pricey.

@@lukepasqualotto4827 Thanks for your valuable feedback mate you'd helped me make up my mind! X-Trail Ti is shortlisted! For us, I don't think we would practically ever need the 3rd row seats. The whole point of looking for a new car is improved safety as we have our first baby on the way. So no airbags in the 3rd row and it's terribly cramped pretty much makes it useless for us. So because there's a bit more used stock available the difference between the ST-L AWD and TI is +/- $3000 depending on KM. Just for example 6k ST-L AWD 40k and 6k Ti 43k.

I do like that lighter coloured Napa leather seats, just as well no “7” seats for that trim.

Seems this only bothers me, but the “U” shape of the hood meant the visibility over the left and right edges of the hood wasn’t good.

if 3rd row airbag is not essential, would you recommend this or CRV? or any other model that with 7 seater and similar price range.

Nearly $2400 for 5 years capped servicing is pretty obnoxious for a mainstream brand

Nice looks , but when I hear CVT I think , why ? Oh , greedy , cheap Charlies that’s why; and then I say : no thank you. No CVT for me. I d get a Mazda CX 8 or CX 9 with auto transmission .

Drove a CX8 for a couple of years, and despite no turbo it's a very good drive. Quite spacious and the third row is actually useful. I have a grey import van these days so I've become very aware of SUV limitations but the CX8 impressed me

Unfortunately here in UAE mitsubishi offers 5yr or 150k km warranty. The resale isn't that good and it's considered as cheap man's car

@@Kabinretiree we were keen to get an STL XTrail as we've had a 2010 XTrail that's done us very well for over a decade. However Nissan's stingy 5 year warranty with more expensive capped price servicing only every 10000km compared to the way more generous Mitsubishi warranty and capped price servicing conditions got us buying an Outlander Aspire with some added accessories for a price only a couple of thousand dollars more than the STL XTrail price. No doubt the STL is a lovely car but the Aspire offers quite a bit more equipment. Sorry Nissan but you'll have to get more competitive with regards to warranty and capped price servicing.

But it's Chinese and Chinese stuff doesn't last, it's their design language, to make stuff that looks nice and shiny... Better than the originals, BUT once you take it home 😂. It's like buying a couch, you have to know who makes it and what's covered by the fabric and sponges. 2 years later, how your car looks won't matter that much, because there would be newer models that look better, reliability!

50K? 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is a real killer. Much better than the Xtrail in every aspect, bigger, much more reliable (warranty tells everything) and the price isn't expected to be much higher.

It already looks so outdated inside and out. Japanese car makers are really not investing much into R&D at all, are they?

Toyota's are still one of the biggest selling brands in Australia. I guess we like the older looking interior here. Personally I like a mix of screen for info/media/maps and physical buttons for commonly switched things... HVAC/lights/ACC/drive control etc
