This 9 Year Old Camera is Our A-Cam for 2024?

We still run C300 Mark II alongside our arri amiras. Absolutely love the image off them. It really goes to show that any camera made in the past 10 years is usable in a professional environment. I still regularly get camera requests for the Sony f55. All the new mirrorless cameras are really convenient and impressive, but if you work outside of social media most filmmakers are better off buying an old Cinema camera than a new mirrorless.

I purchased the C300 mk i and even that still has great value. Such a fun camera to shoot with.

I was searching KZbin to see if someone was going to post a video about using the C300 mkii in 2024 and guess what popped up?! This is a great video and it has helped me to decide on getting this camera! Keep the videos coming as I would like to see it used in an interview setting and how you choose picture profiles and codecs!

Great camera, shot on it for several years. I’d highly recommend the color profile from Owlbot, pretty much fixed the issue I sometimes had with mixed lighting and it gets you closer to Arri.

Stop making video like this! People are gonna realize how good these still are and buy them. haha. We now own 4. Not a single of of our clients has complained about us using 9 year old cameras on their projects. The work flow of these are hard to beat. We stagged two brand new, in the box units last year on ebay for $3k each. Ever since I've kept my eye our for more. We just bought a body only with only 112 hours on it for $1100; talk about a steal for a C/D Cam.

Why did you need to replace the s1h? To keep it in canon ecosystem?

@@ChrisFlores22 mainly yes, it was tough during production essentially having two B Cams. We needed one main workhorse specifically for video. The color profiles were a lot different as well, and very difficult to match so it took more time in post than it needed to
