So, I was lucky enough to rock Shen's Senior Prom, and let me tell you, it was off the charts! We're talking 900 hyped-up teenagers with enough energy to power a small city. It was like turning the dance floor into an EDM festival, complete with mind-blowing remixes and heart-pumping beats. The vibes were absolutely insane!
Now, here's the kicker - we managed to achieve mind-blowing sound with fewer speakers than you'd expect. How, you ask? Well, in this video, special guest Will (who you haven't seen on the channel since the beginning) is spilling the beans on the technicalities behind sound reinforcement for such a massive crowd. He will touch on concepts like comb filtering (it's not as scary as it sounds, I promise) and the strategic placement of speakers, giving us insight on audio concepts he learned down in Nashville during college!

Dude, this set is so DOPE, especially when the kids were beyond hyped once Reload dropped! 💯 This is probably the best gig log I’ve watched! You are giving me so much inspiration as I’m practicing to become an event DJ. Also, which record pools/music services are you using to download those mashups/edits?

Thank you so much! I was loving how hype they were getting to the EDM stuff. Record pool wise I am using BPMSupreme alot of my edits come from DMS, DJ City, Crooklyn Clan, and HypeEdit (free).

You’re very good at this and you rocked that crowd. Hopefully you’ll come with a next-level sound system in the near future. Four “regular” subs for that size crowd is not sufficient (even with an onsite sound engineer).

Eh it did the job and the budget just wasnt there. A couple double 18s obv wouldve been better (or 21s ofc), but for this type of event where im not getting paid concert budgets, using what I have is the cost effective way. The real improver would be in my opinion adding a pair of flown line array tops per side.

The only time I ever seen Djs using 4 is when they had 2 in the front, and 2 in the back . However it was good to know why the way you were doing it was wrong. I don't want to make the same mistake 😂✌ Also if I'm not mistaken I think tour grade line arrays would work, and be louder. (At least from what I gathered in some of SLM Entertainment's videos but they don't always use them therefore I'm not claiming to100% know)

Yeah of course a tour grade array (or even their Martin or Danley boxes) would take a massive dump on an EV box.

The tour grade stuff is absolutely amazing. When you step up to any true line array, you can significantly improve SPL uniformity throughout the venue. The primary reasons it's not practical for this sort of event is #1, you need to fly it to work properly, and #2 Line array boxes often cost in excess of $3000 per box.
