Im telling you, dreamcatcher has the most diverse genre of music you can find. Especially from their bsides, their title tracks are nothing like their bsides. After hearing their bsides, you will ask yourself, "is this the same group?" My top 5 best dreamcatcher bsides will be 1. Fairytale 2. Break the wall 3. Propose 4. Red sun 5. Black or white

dreamcatcher \:D/ less than half of their songs are rock based. their discography has every genre you can think of because they never reuse the same sound. you'll notice it more when you listen to more of their songs - no two songs are similar. they also release a lot of videos for their b-sides, either in the form of special clips or performance videos. a good one is 'wind blows' (genie play color performance video).

Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger!

If you want to listen to Dreamcatcher's vocal in other genres, their B-sides is the way to go. Recommendations: 1. Black or White 2. Red Sun 3. Jazz Bar 4. Fairytale 5. Can't Get You Out Of My Mind All non-rock genres. I didn't include any ballads since it felt like cheating because their vocals in ballads are all impeccable to me. 😅

This was just before the group went fully CGI for their MVs. You can see that they have some CGI in this video, it's really obvious. BUT When you saw JiU holding the bouquet of flowers while they were burning, that was REAL FIRE and was not a 'special effect' at all! She really did that! That's the Group Leader, the oldest member, one of the two 'moms' of the group. She would not ever put anybody else in danger, so she did it herself. She really is that selfless and would do ANYTHING for any one of the members under her charge. She shoulders a lot of the burdens of the group, for the group. She's the bright sun-shiny personality, the one with the Dad Jokes. In the behind-the-scenes video, JiU said that moment, standing there holding the fire while she was blindfolded, was THE SINGLE SCARIEST thing that she has EVER done. I can't blame her there, I am not sure I would have the nerve to do that myself... Thinking about it afterwards is REALLY SCARY because all it would have taken is just a puff of wind in the wrong direction for even just a split second, and she would have instantly caught fire from all the makeup and hair products the girls use!

Sometimes I have the feeling that only people with limited understanding of the actual soundscape of DreamCatcher mention K-Rock and Anime Opening as they cannot squeeze them into any of their exiting box and this is a coping mechanism. Once you check out a Dreamcatcher R&B song, a Raggie Song and an EDM song (neither of has rock or metal influence) you will understand :)

Oh, and as you have mentioned BEcause visuals I am curious how deep did you dig down that rabbit hole? BEcause has some of the most complex visual references I have ever seen in an M/V and paired with its really creepy lyrics it is just a real masterpiece. And it gives a rough estimation on how complex DreamCatcher visual symbolism can go (which also gives a hint on how complex their Lyrics can be). Anyway just a few hints please let me know if anything I have written was new: In the title "BE" as written by the Chinese character "悲“, means "sadness" so "BEcause I love you" means that the source of my sadness is that I love you. It is a song about obsessive love while the visuals are heavily inspired by the movie "US" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers living underground take over the life of their counterparts. Contrary to that in BEcause it is more like an obsessive Shadow side that craves love and a normal side (red represents the shadow side, blue represents the normal side while purple is an indication that these side live together). The hourglass starts the obsessive cycle when the shadow side breaks free and starts corrupting the normal side while eventually the obsessive side gets rejected and becomes the victim of itself and becomes the new normal side and the cycle starts over. Some details I love are how in the lobby at the beginning the dresses of the people who will be taken over during the video are presented. Also the old electric chair used as a throne with roses is a nice one. Exactly half the scenes use wrong lighting setup enforcing the duality, just like all the mirror and upside down images. Finally plenty of images are exact recreations from the "US". Overall, I am also in love with BEcause M/V :)

The group actually has three official rappers. Obviously Dami is the Main Rapper of the group (and The Big Brain among the members, very highly intelligent woman and I really respect her for that). She writes her own lyrics and she has written and/ or produced a lot of stuff for the group and for herself. She has been with the group and the company since Minx was around. ALSO, Dami actually can and does sing! It's always a great surprise and shock because she is actually a great vocalist! I mean, what other Rapper do you know who would be confident covering an Adele song? Dami is also a Lead Dancer. SuA is the group's Main Dancer and was the Lead Rapper of Minx. She also rapped for a while for DC, most of the way through the Nightmare Series. She stopped rapping to work on her other vocals. She's AMAZING either way. SuA still raps sometimes, she has come back to it sporadically. You saw a little bit of that in 'BEcause'. She also did some in 'Vision' and in their fan song, 'Reason'. Gahyeon's rapping debut happened in the song 'Piri', the last Korean-Language part of the Nightmare series (but that series has a Japanese-Language 'alternate ending' that is really great). But Gahyeon is a Vocalist first. Main Vocalist Siyeon can rap (but she does not do that for any of their official music)! You HAVE to watch some of their other vlogs and behind-the-scenes stuff, she's INSANE!

It's interesting to see pretty much every single kpop reactor call their sound 'anime' because I just realized I never thought that for a second because I don't really watch anime. It's just rock to me. Anime openings are then typically rock songs, then? I did love a Tokyo Ghoul opening or closing rock song by People in a Box. So I guess I kinda get it. Anyway, Dreamcatcher is a rock band in my mind. I just call them rock or pop-rock. Though, honestly, they created their own genre. No one else sounds like them or does what they do.

Their Japanese singles are ROCK HEAVY.
