This Achievement in Left 4 Dead Showed Me NO MERCY

Today I take on the tall task of completing all the Left 4 Dead campaigns. This was a pretty hard achievement, but as you will probably find out, it wasn't as hard as asking someone to actually help me get them.

As you'll see in the video, the A.I. in this videogame are pretty dumb, and that's saying something coming from me. I thought the I in A.I. was supposed to mean intelligent. More like idiot am I right?

Did the same some time ago. The rush of seeing the rescue arrive, seeing that all your meat shields are long gone and hearing a smoker and a hunter around the corner as the tank finishes off the last bot really fills you with adrenaline.

My friend sets all his games to the hardest difficulty available from the first time he plays them. He played L4D on expert so much that he was able to get through each campaign by himself multiple times. He swears it’s fun, I think he’s crazy.

lmao i have a friend exactly like that. he purposely handicaps himself just to see if he can beat games in ways they weren’t intended. first thing that comes to mind is him playing division 2 on the hardest difficulty by himself. he would sit there for two hours on one mission just to beat it because all of the enemies are bullet sponges at that difficulty and you’re supposed to do it with a team.

That's how I played Ghosts of Tsushima for the first time. Japanese dialog, limited hud elements, and hardest difficulty. I was very immersed.

I forgot all about player rag dolls in left 4 dead. That first witch smacking bill down the street was amazing. It’s sad that they removed them from left 4 dead 2 because of the defibrillator

They can also show up if you're the last standing survivor. Since no one can defib you, you get the classic ragdolls

Back in the day, (or maybe they still work), there were glitches for each campaign finale, where you just hold out and don't take damage. They were all dubbed "Jesus spots," and were beyond clutch. No Mercy had the Jesus room, Death Toll had the Jesus rock, Dead Air had the Jesus plane, and Blood Harvest had the Jesus tree.

You should try Left 4 Dead 2 Expert realism by yourself lol. I have “fond” memories of that achievement. I remember it was Thanksgiving day 2009. I made it with my squad all the way to the end on Dead Center. We were 4 hours deep and dinner time rolled around. Everyone had to bail, but I desperately didn’t want to go through it again. Spent an hour trying to do the finale with the A.I. and kept failing. Then some random kid from Indonesia joined and we clutched tf up. I was only 40 minutes late for Thanksgiving dinner 😅😂

I remember playing Left 4 Dead 2 on the Xbox 360 one time and I was trying to get that damned achievement where you survive Dead Center on Expert. I had and still have no friends so I just played with bots. After hours of suffering finally I made it to the finale where you must grab like 8-12 gascans to gas up a car and escape.... and right as I'm about to pour the last can... Rochelle decides to heal me while I'm pouring the can SOMEHOW causing my entire Xbox to freeze/crash... And yes I cried hysterically and wanted to smash my head through my tv. And had to suffer through that all again.

Left for Dead has a mechanical where it will spawn tougher enemies more frequently the better you are doing. Meaning the more health you and teammates have the more tanks and hunters you face

i have done this aswel! but with random players instead! and MAN! i seen it all again! - Team Killing - Trolling - Rage quitters - Speedrunners that ends up dieing - Players rejoining our game over & over just to kill us - Players vote kicking me out for no reason! or players voting to go back to lobby! (Why is that even allowed if your not the host? so dumb) And very bad spawns! like 2 tanks in one stage! and many hordes! GEESH! And last, i had to redo the blood harvest chapter 6 times! because i kept deing while others escaped! UGH. but done is done! got the atchievement on steam and now i can enjoy the game again! oh, and my dumbass also completed Crash Course on expert that was totally not needed!

For context, the reason why Bill was punching Snam with the medkit is because he was actually trying to free him from the Smoker's tongue. Keyword was "trying", as what his A.I thought was saving, is just bashing the tongue that dropped with a medkit.

I actually did this solo with bots in both games. The bots are actually pretty good at being sentry turrets provided you can keep all the zombies in front of them. They're fairly accurate and can see all zombies provided they aren't directly behind a wall. As long as you inch forward and methodically clear out all mobs, it's fairly easy to do with bots. Except Dark Carnival. That level can go #$$& itself because of the rollercoaster and just before the fourth safehouse.

I’ve 100% L4D2. Did expert with a final checkpoint glitch on 2/5 and did 4 player coop for the others. These games were made for 4 player coop. So much fun.

Do absolutely play l4d2 on computer via steam. The workshop mods are wonderful. For example, you can replace a smoker with yoshi, replace common zombies with teletubbies, replace a jockey with Diddy Kong, or replace a tank with Heavy from Team Fortress 2. There’s a lot of stupid shit you can do with mods and I love all of it. (Also you can change in settings the level of violence without having to edit it out)

I know its a bit after the fact but if you turn on closed captions the game will give you captions like "boomer gurgles" which takes away some of the surprise factor that the special infected have! Kinda like an audio wall hack of sorts!

I'll be honest, I've been playing the L4D series for about 12 years now and I have never, never ever gotten a 2nd tank at the end of Sewers. Your luck my friend, is terrible. Fantastic video though, I loved it

Me an my friend were doing export runs on L4D2 and we died to a tank next to the safe room on the second to last level of Dead Centre. When we respawned, there was a tank already spawned, punching the safe room door.

When playing no mercy and when you're at the 3rd chapter, I suggest just staying on the lift, always work out for me in expert l o l. As long as nobody falls down then all is good.

I am pretty sure that the reason that there were no zombies in the sewer and in front of the safe house wad because your teammates held all the zombies back and that means no more zombies will spawn if they are all at the beginning of the level it happened to me once

I think the only one harder than this is not taking damage after calling rescue. i got the achievement on pure luck because i joined an in-progress session of crash course. i think they were on the last wave, i took over a bot at the end of the wave, shot some zombies, got in the truck, level ended and i got the trophy. (it's been a few years since i had the moment so my memory is a little fuzzy.)

I remember the time in l4d that the shove never went into a cooldown even if you spam it too much. This made the AI REAAAALLY strong at the time because they'd just spam shove went zombies get close -- making hordes really easy. 😂

for blood harvest i always had better luck holding out in the road where the jeep comes in. as long as the bots dont shut down you have a clear line of site everywhere and no nearby special spawns. in versus its so efficient that you cant really do anything to the survivors until they go to resupply

There was a time when i didn't have internet for a few days, i went tryhard and tried to complete all L4D 1&2 campaings on expert with all the survivors alive. It was hell, but after 2 or 3 days with suffering and so many deads, i did it. Didn't get any achievement tho because it was all offline, but the experience remains in my head haha

Ive been trying for this achievement in L4D2 and my god doing it with the AIs is near impossible. So far, I've only beaten Dead Center and I got to the finale on Dark Carnival but gave up after dying for two hours straight. I play Nick usually so I get stuck with: Coach's AI - selfish. immediately beelines for whatever materials are lying around. tends not to heal you unless you're on the brink of death. kind of nice sometimes because he holds onto his health pack until i need it, kinda terrible because he'll use it on the horde bait (rochelle) Ellis' AI - His AI is so clueless 😅 he gets good kills but get behind him and he won't notice you're smacking him for a solid 3 seconds. stands further away from the group so he gets pulled or jumped the most. more often than not he's the first one to get downed. Rochelle's AI - completely useless. heals people when they're in yellow. constantly steals kills by shooting a single bullet after you've done all the damage. usually at the bottom of the board. she's really only used as horde and witch bait (if the witch is in the way that is) It's hell.

So, I had the same thing happen. Playing Expert with friends, I ended up triggering a witch. So I ran as fast as I could to avoid dying. By doing so, no other effected spawned for some reason. My cowardice and ability to leave my teammates to slaughter things for me saved us in the end.

Yeah, solo is HARD. So, you need to crouch, avoid hitting your team, and aim for the head once you back yourself in a corner during hoards. You think the AI has great aim, but in realism it’s different. In the beginning, if he had hit Louis he would have died. Sometimes that’s better- to kill off the AI if they’re hurt with a health pack because they use their items at the wrong and worst time. The packs are finite. I did it with 2 people TOTAL and there is a time where you want to kill the AI. You’ll have to push them to stop them from healing you when it’s not needed, you can be downed 3 times before it’s permadeath. You need them to transport items and take some of the burden of numbers. I had a lot of fun in this game. Also, witches take two shotguns to the back of the head and tanks can be killed quickly using a similar tactic. You can’t run ahead and you can punch to release yourself from a smoker. When you take off you have to make sure everyone is close before you make a dash. Then there is an easier way through certain maps. From the beginning in New Mercy, you just jump of the top of the start to begin in the alley way
