I really do love pestigors as well. They absolutely nailed tue aesthetic. For beastmen they are a faster, cheaper bestigor. And paired with forsaken can make for a shockingly quick nurgle rush. Just great on both rosters. Probably my favorite unit of the DLC.

Direct shooting gunpowder unit in a closed small box formation? Those iron 3 hail gunners shot how many times? I think it was less than 5 shots while they were in the box. Cathay even has jade crossbow man for that. Cathay player seems like very new to this game.

it orks if the opponent acually brings lare units which BM tend to do. but vs infntry hey wont have line of sight and be useless

Oh it me. Thanks for the cast. I only obeyed the Mark cap with pestigors because this was a vermin league game. My honour would not have held had this been a QB game against cathay coz fuck that faction 💅

Why go box formation with Iron Hail Gunners? I think that totally lost it for Cathay so hard here.

Beastmen have a lot of Vanguard and fast units, so they probably wanted to be ready in case the Beastmen attacked from all sides at the start. Ironhails are also probably there to punish chariots or monster play, and they still outrange throwing axes, so there's a pretty good chance of them paying for themselves in general. The only major problems were that the box was too tight, and the Jade Lancers were probably always gonna struggle to get their cost back.

I feel that bestigors need some sort of buff or a cost reduction, compared to these marked gors. At the moment all they have are more armor and slightly better stats, with any of the marked ones having special abilities. Maybe some sort of basic bonus on charging?

+xx% speed while on Active or Fresh vigour would be appropriate. Maybe missile resistance while charging as well, to simulate being hard to hit? They are supposed to be fast shock troops.

@@hdpotatogameplay9226 Multi-unit damaging spells like Final Transmutation, Traitor-kin, and Soul Stealer are also viable. And arguably more valuable if the opponent doesn't box up and instead goes for SEMs.

A good mix of strong monsters, some anti-infantry tools and an answer for cavalry are all necessary to beat GC I think. Strangely I think Chaos dwarfs have the easiest time doing it.

iron hails got very little value. Focused down by raiders too fast. DLC power creep is real tho

Iron hails are not good in this match up anyway. Beastmen bring no armor so crossbows would have been a much better pick as they are more durable and have better range. Going wide with peasant archers and spearmen would have been good too.

Cathay has good ranged units but in order to protect them you need a frontline which i feel they dont have.

Are you talking in general or this game? In general cathay have some of the best mid tier line holders in the game.

Jade Warriors are exactly that. They're made to protect the backline and are very effective at that
