This is my least favourite of the 4 but I don't hate it. I think it was the wrong song to release as a single because it's almost giving people who say "architects are going soft I hate them" more ammo. I like the new direction, just not this song
@nicholascurry87323 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree with you, but they could be dropping all of their softer songs from the album first so when they drop their album more of their fans are happier with the album. But they also could be just putting out the songs to make a statement that this is the direction they plan on going. As much as I am sad to see them going this direction, I also don’t mind it. The reason being is that my wife enjoys more of this kind of rock/metal sound, she Is definitely not into their heavy stuff haha.

@metalblakedowns3 жыл бұрын
I see your point, but you also have to remember that in the scene specifically BMTH are the best example to go to. Also, they kinda started the radio rock route in the Metalcore scene with 'That's The Spirit'. So like sure, you could say, hey they're sounding like 'Three days grace, or Breaking Benjamin' but that just wouldn't make sense because they're scenes/genre's are naturally separated. So basically when talking about a band in metalcore, yeah, BMTH is the best example for comparison. Though, wait until you hear 'Libertine' from the album, because that has Three Days Grace written ALL over it
@dmitriyberdnikov96963 жыл бұрын
@@metalblakedowns Absolutely agree. It doesn't matter if they invented radio rock or not. The fact is they're really popular in that mainstream rock/metal so comparison is fair enough. @@dmitriyberdnikov9696 People don't use it as a comparison though. They seem to always use it as critisism. That little chug section at the end with the scream is the exact same as the end of “Heavy Metal” by BMTH, feels like they took the cheesiest parts of bmth and made a song out of it

I mean I like the song. I think the issue is that the other three singles set the bar so high that this song, which would be stellar for any other band, isn’t as impressive coming after those three obsession-creating songs

I’m with you. I love architects, their new album is definitely supposed to be different which I’m not against. There are no screams in this song, and it’s way too repetitive. Not that those are automatically bad things. Just from seeing what architects has put out before, this is sub par. The music itself, the melody, drums, riffs, I’m with it. The lyrics and the singing I can’t mess with either all that much

For me personally I love this song. In all honesty I feel an insane connection with the lyrics and I'm seriously in love with the general sound of the song. But to each they're own and if you don't like than I'm not gonna hate you 😂 we all have our personal opinions and tastes with music.

This is the first time in Architects' career that I can safely say their singles for a new album don't sound forward-thinking, this is derivative and that's not what Architects are to me. I don't mind Animals by the way, mostly the choruses and main riff though.

That's a great song. I like the way they are moving. They are reinventing their new sound and we have to support them. Tom was mastermind beguin Architects signature sound and when they lost him he took part of band, so they have to balance lost with something new. I like what they are doing and how big they sounds now. It's huge step up for all band. So quit hating on new sound and give them a support. Not all songs of this band has to be bangers. ✌️✨🤘

It's not a bad song, it's a bad single, singles are meant to represent the album and from what I've heard, the album has some very heavy songs, some melodic songs, some experimental songs ETC, this song is like the FFAK Annihilation of the singles, they're horrible singles to release because they're both bad and generic but Annihilation fits well on the FFAK The Path listen through between Breaking The Mirror and the Title Track and so I'm hoping that Meteor would fit well between Demi God and Dying is Absolutely Safe, especially as both songs feel more like transitional songs rather than actual good songs
@fmradio9223 жыл бұрын
Great reaction man good solid opinions but a side note and not necessarily about you but... I hate when people get fed up with bands going in new directions like it was their decision maybe they grew out of their old sound, maybe they couldn’t come up with anything good matching their old sound maybe they want to experiment for a bit, the point being if you don’t like them either stop listening to them or just listen to the stuff you liked by them, people need to remember bands don’t make music for their fans they make music for themselves we simply decided we liked it and became fans. Good artists make music because they love to not because they want fame.

I remember when they release hereafter, I was ok... this is cool, is good but it’s the same heavy architects that we know from LF/LT and All our gods... even doomsday was different from the whole holy hell album. And when they release Animals I was so hype, so excited for this new architects chapter cause it was so different from they previous albums, so far all 4 singles are bangers. Not gonna lie, with meteor at first i was, what the hell is this? But now I cant take that chorus out of my head, I’m standing beneath the meteeeeeor🤘🏻

This is probably the only band I have ever wanted to go back to their old sound. All for experimenting but this just isn’t working for me. They are masters of their older sound and can make deep meaningful music. I mean if they don’t want to that’s fair enough but that’s just my opinion haha

Black Lungs is really the only single so far that I am into. I have always hated the whole "its not the same as their old stuff" argument because it is NEW music and should't be the same as older stuff, but this just doesn't captivate me like Holy Hell did. It isn't a bad song, but it just seems a little generic for a band who pretty much revolutionized modern metalcore with All Our Gods Have Abandoned us and Holy Hell

The lyric, ". . . pushed the last domino, before the apocalypse" kinda just killed the song for me. It just doesn't flow well at all to me and the gap between that line and the rest of the break accentuates how awkward it is. I swear if they stopped at "domino" it'd feel a bit better. I really wish I didn't feel as though the small nods to old lyrics with the "beggars belief" wasn't just there to draw interest to cover for the rest of the blandness of the track and how little of "uniquely Architects" sound is left in it aside from Sam's vocals and Dan's drumming.
