when i first found detahjae i thought he's just copying tylers sound same way tyler copied Pharrell, but after listening to the album I was quite disappointed because some of these tracks sound like he had a tyler song playing in the background and just tried to imitate that feel and not the vibe of tyler himself. i think its fine if he copies a style, he's a new artist anyways, but some of his stuff sounds straight ripped off. what did surprise me is the actual albums meaning and the cool narrative. he's capable of creating a unique sound as I've listened to some of his old stuff, but I guess this tyler sound is what made him get the recognition he deserves, I just hope he doesn't continue it because there Is a creativity ceiling in wanting to stay in the same vibe that made you. in my opinion the inspiration should be a nice touch along with your own style, similar to when tylers OF sound where he was a mixture of Pharrell kanye mf doom, this guys music sounds just like a watered down tyler. i just hope when he finds his new sound many people will remain fans of his music because it would be foolish to say his music isn't good.
