Yep, that is dangerous. Hope he stays safe but not only might that blade fly, there is an unebenen weight on that Spindel that is turning very fast... there is a reason that you usually have 3 of the same blades with the same weigh5. You are not even supposed to use a new blade with 2 blades that were resharpened a few time even on planer schwere you can set them to the same height so it would cut even... because the weight is not even anymore then. But only having some5hing on one side... That piece of metal might not weigh much, but at that speed it weight a ton...

Why did you make the blade blunt after sharpening. I make wood moulding cutters a lot and they are sharpened to a razor sharp edge. I can see the cutter is not cutting efficiently. One other thing to note. The cutter is not cutting at 90 deg to the wood so you need to grind it at 30 deg angle. When it's cutting, it is at 30 deg to the wood not 90 deg.

Nói một cách sách vở,thì cách này là để giảm Góc Chém...Bởi máy bào VN thường sẻ rãnh dao 25 độ,ta có thể mài vát mặt sau đi 10 độ thì sẽ giảm được 25 - 10 = 15độ...Độ càng cao bào càng ngọt nhưng lốc thớ,độ càng thấp thì càng bóng nhẵn nhưng tốc độ bào phải chậm

For me, I’d stick to making an old fashioned moulding plane unless I had 100s of feet to make-much safer and more control. I also wonder if all that tearout would be reduced with many very thin passes with this machine.

Though I have never had a good look at one, I think this machine is something called a 'Sticker'. Back in the day (70's) I met a fella that worked at the plaining mill I used to prep the spar grade spruce I was prepping to build the box spars for my Herreshoff Schooner. He was the last guy in the shop who knew how to run it and showed me the room they stored the custom blades they used for crown moldings and the like. He was a good man, helped my get my stock through the jointer and planer (more accurately, I helped him) in good order. -Veteran '66-68

Very dangerous, There’s nothing holdin’ the blade apart from the clamp, And it will knock the bearings out as you’ve only got one cutter in the block, and I shouldn’t stand anywhere near it as that will make a mess of you when it comes out. Saying that when needs must, Retired specialist joiner carpenter cabinet maker, Very interesting what people will do to try and do a job around the world please be safe. PHIL FROM THE MOULIN

@@has26200 я не заточник. Помоему, как мне кажется, чтобы железка меньше тупилась. На рейсмусе оборотов вала 6000м/мин. И 1нож. Позвуку слышно как он выкалывает дерево. А дальше с помощью проб и ошибок поднимать стол на пол миллиметра, чтобы сциклевать орех. Если снимать больше то снова будут выколы. В общем это долго и муторно, а ролик уменьшен, чтобы народ не уснул.

You Cowboy. This won't work, because the development of the cutter in relationship to the centre of the rotating block hasn't been taken into accounts. The result will be close, but not accurate. And it should be done on a Spindle

Bang on Jack, I bet there is a good chance that your comment will not be fully understood. I do have a Jeffwood 702 thicknesser circa 1950"s with a square cutter block and a few profiled knives to do exactly as "Old Mate" has done. More often than not the shallow profile was used on the tops of skirting boards ( base boards). I don't blame any one for having a go, but as they say " There is nothing new under the Sun".
