Oshi No Ko's "IDOL" is the most record breaking anime opening, and in a similar vein God Knows is arguably one of the most Iconic OST. Pretty much entirely because of just how EVERYWHERE both shows were as they were airing. Haruhi Suzumiya is like... It's kinda like the one member of the big three that isn't REALLY part of the big three. It's that kind of popular. It's kinda like Death Note and Code Geass in that regard. One of those shows that you look at and go "if it had aired about half a decade or a decade earlier it may very well have been one of the big introductory anime for people." It kinda straddles the line between THAT... And whatever the hell kind of monster you wanna call Yu-Gi-Oh. Obviously, nowhere near as big as Yu-Gi-Oh, but during it's run it had the same kind of fervant following within the anime community as Yu-Gi-Oh did with the CCG community. It also has the, not one of, but THE most infamous arc in anime history, or hell maybe even in ENTERTAINMENT HISTORY itself. "The Endless Eight" is by far the ballsiest idea an anime studio has ever had and capitalized on, but also arguably the most genius.

I gotta defend the artistic direction in season 2 with the slightly different episodes. That took a lot of courage to do and it made the viewer feel like they were in the time loop as well and were suffering while looking for an escape as well. I had the pleasure of seeing it weekly and when it ended I felt relief like how some of the characters did which is an amazing call by the staff

I binged the endless 8 in two days and I went through so many emotions. I grew irritated and bored. I was listless at times and yet by the end when Kyon finally demanded everyone do their summertime homework it was one of the most triumphant moments in all of anime. No way you could have the same kind of impact if you only did that in a two or three episode ark. Brilliant.

I remember this show being pretty good though I saw it years ago so I might be remembering wrong. Also I don't remember if this was the show or the spinoff had it where 8 episodes I think were basically the same with slight changes at the end of the episode. I remember that part because I skipped them and nearly gave up on the show because it was very annoying.

It wouldn't be much of a stretch to say that The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was perhaps the most popular anime among American fans from the years 2006 to about 2010-11, it was CRAZY how popular and influential a series it was and we have so much anime that was inspired by it. One of my all-time favorites (yes, EVEN the 'Endless Eight', it was just a victim of poor adaptation and being played out of order during it's initial broadcast)!!
