Fantastic build! As i've been playing it more I think it's a little stronger if you skip bloodlines and get wood/farm upgrades instead. It's more micro not to lose knights but the eco is worth it to me. I'm also usually getting pushed so getting the knights going tends be a must at the very start of castle. I've been trying this on other civs and franks and Portuguese let you go up with 20 to keep the timing while having pretty sizable direct bonuses. Alternatively, subbing knights for eagles let's you go up with a blacksmith while being resistant to spears as a counter and let's you build up numbers pre-castle. The monks cover the obvious knights/LS counters and you can get redemption to counter siege when they try to counter. Keep em coming

I like these kind of builds. I used your fast steppe lancer myself but its so so dangerous. I'm always afraid of using it even if I cna win with it. Like it but dont use often cause its a nerve-racking thing going up so fast.

Hey Morley, just subscribed a few days ago and I appreciate your content a lot as someone coming back after a 6-8 years to his childhood favourite game. I convinced my friends to play with and one of them just takes Persians every time and walls up with 8+ castles and spams 650hp Elephants. I try not letting him get past Feudal but I make silly mistakes like sending in less troops and he barely survives. He repeats the same thing if he does survive Feudal age. I'm quite perplexed about how to deal with it as even Halberdiers don't do nearly enough damage against 30-40 elephants with monk support. This is really spoiling the quality of time I take out to play with friends. I have come to a stage where I can land Castle Age at 16-18 minutes and can beat Hard AI. Please help me come up with something to prevent this from happening. I want to start Ranked ASAP but this won't do us any good. I've tried talking, it doesn't work.

Hey! Welcome to the channel! Elephants are really slow. If you make load of your own monks you can convert them. If you have a civ that gets the redemption tech at the monastery you can even convert his monks. Halbs should do the trick, you just need lots of them so make sure you have a lot of barracks

Unlike most I learned arabia before arena so fast castling makes me nervous.. this one is really cool though! It works just as well for saracens and the monks scale way better. Givem the ole smoosh

I would like to see some more games putting these build orders into practice to see how this plays out in a real game I struggle to execute in a real game because you have to take one or two villagers off to wall as well as having to spend wood.

I've been going to 22 pop with a 13:30 castle time because I am bad and need to add in a farm to reliably pull this off without idling tc alot lol. but I have a 10 win streak going right now! do you think this could work with saracens going to stone? I like the idea of having the flexibility to build towers for wearly pressure when the opponent countertowers or goes something like 19 pop 2 range

Yeah i use replays so that the screen isn’t flicking around everywhere and you can follow where each villager is going

Hello friends! When your scout arrives behind the deer, he will be afraid and go in the opposite direction to that in which your scout arrived. If you program the follow shortcut, you can "better manage" your angle of arrival :) (but your scout will only follow the deer as long as it is out of the fog of war, so you will have to repeat the operation until the arrival under the Topwn Center! @bjmccann1

nice strategy Ive been trying to copy it with a best time of 13:36 im about 1000 elo, did u play this demo on explored map? would be interesting to see your fog of war and view lock to get an idea of what you are doing besides the explanation which was really easy to follow, I seem to be doing something wrong to be nearly a minute slower than you

Why Persians over say… teutons?

It’s 40 seconds faster than with teutons which is really important as it lowers the time window in which you can take damage. I did pin a comment saying it works with teutons too. Persians can quickly build up an eco so it doesn’t feel as all in compared to other civs and the +2 attack vs archers is great as archers are the main counter to these strats. I have been doing it with sicilians and having good success. Currently doing it with romans but adding scorpions instead of monks
