Wow, that was shocking and disgusting tricks used by the amusements - using duct tape to tape down the prizes so that people don't win them. Should have informed the owners or staff that you were aware of their tactics and would be taking matters further. Thank you for sharing this experience.

Loosening and over tightening the screws on the claws in the claw machines is also another dirty trick too. Funfairs do this a lot too! That's one reason why I avoid the claw machines unless it's the ones that state "A PRIZE EVERY TIME!" which seem to be rare these days.

@@samanthahardy9903 I'm not saying they all do it, but travelling funfairs can be the worst because they haven't got a long term reputation to worry about with most people visiting just once that will never know any better. Many have been known to set fruit machine pay outs to well below the 70% UK legal limit, some could be as low as 10% so virtually no-one wins, but they will still keep pretending to almost win, for instance tempt you on your last credit to see if it holds on the next go and occasionally give small pay-outs to keep you interested.

I would have taken photos, and reported it to staff to give me the prize or I’m reporting them to trading standards. That is fraud.

I work in an Arcade and The duct tape is definitely a breach of licencing conditions. I would report it to the local council who issue the licences. The only reason we would ever use Duct Tape in the arcade is to close off a coin mechanism if there is a problem we can't immediately fix.

WIN. As for the duct tape, I am disgusted with their dishonesty with the public. Duct taping prizes down to prevent legitimate wins is the lowest form of cheating about. When I launch my arcade in the future. I would reset the positions of the prizes in the machines daily if no one won them that day but I would NEVER ever tape them down as its technically stealing off the public. Great video though mate.

Big Clive just recently made a video about how these grabbers work, and how you get played. In short, they adjust the voltage for the grabber in order to make it stronger or weaker. The computer simply decides when it is time to win.

I once saw some kids in an arcade in Scarborough using a candy floss stick to get the coins off the edge of a pusher machine, they laid the stick down in the tray underneath then turned it to an upright position and poked them coins off the edge, their pockets where bulging with 2 pence coins.

No you that won't work you need to use the metal strip from a car window wiper.. But now most of them have a piece of metal so there is no tiny thin gap between the glass and what ever it is. If you want to make serious money use a clicker or strimming wire on fruit machines.

@@carloszarzoso1724 Older coin pushers were backless in the old days, you could simply just push the platform from the back of the machine forward, it would sound an alarm of course. I know this from watching a few kids do it at a local fair back in the 80s.

It's best to use subtitles, lol. we are from the black country and have an accent and some own words that only people from this part of England use. I do tone it down for the videos, but bits slip out every now and again. It would help if you watched a series called the peaky blinders as they are in Birmingham not too far from the black country. All amusements use tickets as your win ,you have to collect lots of tickets to redeem at the kiosk for your "PRIZE" . I spent £25 on these machines in Blackpool for my 7 yr old Granddaughter to win a £6 plastic toy a complete rip off .

Most if not all of these arcade games are rigged to fail. Taping prizes down like that with duct tape is like theft ... Abysmal! It's good to have a bit of fun in these places but the grabber machines are pathetic. It's easier and cheaper to buy the toys in these machines at local shops/stalls as they all buy from the same local suppliers anyway!
