14:06 Funniest thing is that one of the comments shown under the "political" art piece stereotypes artists as Democrat voters (the one that says it's contradictory for an artist to vote for Trump) . It doesn't matter what side of the political aisle you're on, we're here to have fun. Besides America is a free country, Americans are allowed to have personal values and beliefs. Acting like all artists have to vote Democrat is like acting like all people of colour have to vote Democrat. They don't, and there's been plenty of conservative artists and conservative people of colour, especially historically, for example, the abolitionists were voting Republican. We're here to have fun lol
@morreiyКүн бұрын
@@wrenithilduincats This is besides your point but just to spread some knowledge in case you're unaware, the parties have flipped since the abolitionist era, the party they were voting for was the more progressive one. Back in their day the more progressive party was the Republican party and the more conservative one was the Democrat party. So, essentially, the abolitionists were Republicans but not conservative.

Art is made either for fun, to convey feelings, or send a message, among other things. I think understanding how to process art and the intention behind it is very important because it avoids all the drama that clearly starts from someone misinterpreting why exactly that art was made, namely the situation you mentioned about Jens. I know the tiktok art community makes it very easy to call out these behaviors, but I feel the need to point out that this issue has been around in online art community spaces longer than Tiktok has even been around. I remember another artist telling me around a decade ago that their 6 year old nephew was a better artist than me and that I should just give up art before I waste my life on a hobby I'll never be good at. When I tried to stand up for myself and report this harassment to one of the moderators of the forums, they threatened to kick ME out for being "unwilling to accept critique after posting in the critique channel"! We as an entire community, not just the tiktok community, need to crack down on bullying. It has been an issue for a long time and needs to stop.

Another issue I've noticed with the TikTok art community is the constant comparing to each other. Like yeah you can compare your art to someone else's to see how you can improve and then there's people who take other peoples art and compare them to a 'better artist' and then they proceed to complain to the artist that their work doesn't match what they THINK is 'good art'(in the sense of art style n stuff). If you really don't like someone's art style then scroll past it, no one's forcing you to look at it.

If it something is true art style is something unique. And people shouldn´t critize for it doesn´t matter if it is uncanny, realistic, cartoonistic or other it is going to be always a art style-- You can take inspiration/reference from others people it won´t be define as tracing. People have their right to their own opinion but don't have the right to 'fix' someones art without asking the said artist. People also have to know that each artist draws in their own way, just because an artist doesn't line up with your views and value how you see art, doesn't mean everything else is 'wrong' And finally people need to understand that most artists draw for fun.

Tiktok, instagram, and twitter seem so scary to post art on ngl.. I feel like youtube is a great platform to post on, there is a lot of good and down to earth people on different art videos I see and when I post my art I see a lot of positive comments and nice feedback and criticism 💁🏻♀️

The duality of all of it is really mind blowing tbh. "How dare you create beautiful ppl in games or in your paintings - those are not real ppl!" [proceeds to draw smth more realistic] "How dare you draw ugly ppl! Eww~ draw them beautifully!" Like wtf, i sometimes think some people just don't know what they want, and can't do anything themselves, so their envy leads to these types of bullying. And the saddest part - they're also lazy to change smth about themselves, it's always easier to bully talented ppl.

I pray that when the eventual tiktok exodus happens because of it being banned in the US that all of the tiktokers pivot to Instagram reels rather than KZbin shorts because please I want them ANYWHERE but here MANN

People forget that art is just a basic human activity as a form of creation and self-expression, like song and dance. You don't need to be good at it at all to enjoy it.

I’m watching this vid while trying to draw a realistic emperor moth for right now I’m using a photo and just grabbing the main colors and outlines then I do the blending shading rendering and backgrounds myself I like drawing moths lol pretty easy I’m only using existing photos and images temporarily until I know anatomy and colors but I feel bad for people who are getting all this hate for working so hard on something
@SubliminaIMessages10 сағат бұрын
imo you have to know how to draw realistically if you want to draw surrealistically. It's boring but you have to know how anatomy works before you can start breaking it

Being an artist on Vine was so fun for a really long time, I physically dont understand why the tik tok art community is so strange (my personal opinion). My biggest hypothesis as an old is that monetization literally started in real time on vine, and it actually contrary to popular belief: destroyed the platform. Implementing a payment system was half-baked from the owners of vine and the incentive to be a "partnered" creator was only really reserved for the extremely popular on the platform, money was mismanaged and the tiny cute little 6 second video app up and shot itself in the kneecap Now its quite literally a numbers game. We also have 10-15 whole years of bot farming and algo-jockeying behind so many art trends .. and plus storefront and product integration. There's now a blurred line between just "posting cool art" and doing everything in your power to look, act like, and make $ as a brand. So: people have this strange no-stakes obsession with popular aesthetics, they mix up their opinion and taste of art with factual assessments of art, and they even violate others personal space for drama and clout. All a rat race for engagement Sorry for the rant. Cool vid and topic I guess. Had me thinking about the last time I actually enjoyed an art community online lol

The main reason i was so hesitant to post any art anywhere is because of this.

Is it that they have no imaginitive process and can't come up with anything so they steal stuff like this to "expand their portfolio"?

It has become so normal to bully artists now a days, they complain about ai and how theres no beginner artists but yet they bully the beginners! Hypocrisy at its finest.

3:17 I posted a drawing once of a redraw art comparison on tiktok. I got like 2 comments saying how it's a downgrade and they hated the styling. I don't remember what they said exactly but I remember the feeling of being down. I don't remember if I ever responded to them, but I remember there was this one person who persistently defended me in the replies. And that's all I need to know that where someone out there will say insensitive things about your art, there will always be someone who will like it.

This is another good reason to ban Tik Tok, people aren't given a chance to properly learn about art and appreciate others styles because the echo chamber of haters. Personally Ireally enjoy doing hyperrealism but my skills weren't to that level nor did I have the time to do it. So l used those skills blending with my illustration skills and my interest in anime/manga art to make my own style. This is how we make our own name in the vast art world by taking in the skills of many styles blending mixing and refining them to become unique. like the first image I think was ugly but just because I didn't like the mouth, but also the frog knight was ugly too and took too long to see what it was. Drawing your friends or classmates etc in a way that fits their persona is not this same as how you see yourself. Also ART is Not political unless it is Explicitly made that way, art tells a story, art is an expression of how you see the world, art is naïve any negative put on it is by the viewer.

Artist are individuals too, they, us, use our art to convey our opinions as well. Brushing it as a "it's just a drawing" thing is irresponsible, the likelihood of them ACTUALLY meaning what their drawing is being perceived as could be EXACTLY what they intended it to be perceived. It's 50/50 from what I've seen, it's either fun/practice or a statement/opinion.

Me and my family are huge artists and we support small and even big artists becuase we get how much time and effort people put in their own style I'm 12 and I'm decent at art and my uncle is Leonardo. literally. People have their own ideas and options so please worry about your self and your own art becuase one time there was a kid on my bus making fun of my art, and for weeks I didn't pick up the pen. I know most people aren't good at art and I get it but other people just shame it and call it bad and say stuff like "think of something else" and it is so useless to the art community when someone does that anyways much love to your art everyone ❤️ 💙
