Super cool video. The guys in my club back in the early 2000's used to clown me about throwing the little SK Rocket Shad. A little single Colorado bladed spinnerbait. They stopped laughing because I caught em like crazy on that bait and still do. My only addition would be to add that I was fishing the clear water lakes of San Diego and it worked great. I would swim it on outside Tule edges or through willows. The key was to bump or drag it over something. Anyway, love your channel. Keep the quality content coming! 👍

I enjoy your show. I'm getting older so I am limited to fishing in the 5 acre pond behind the house, with the largest bass has been 8 pounds with the largest bream 2 pounds. I know that it's small water. Just as long as I can still fish I will!

Wow that’s not the bait I would have guessed but makes sense. There’s huge clouds of 2 inch shad all over the lakes around me in east Texas right now. Absolutely! Spinning reel works great with 1/4 oz spinnerbaits. I find 6 to 8 lbs test line works great on 1/4 oz spinnerbaits fir making long casts across those shallow wind blown flats. I only use heavier line on baitcaster if there is significant wood or other gnarly structure nearby.

Great video as always. I know you were in a wind blown pocket, but it looks like you were off the bank maybe fishing the outside edge of some grass, but how deep was it and what was the surface tempature. Any other info would be appreciated. I've gotten hold of some 1/4 and 3/16 oz baits with 3 small willowleaf blades, just curious if you had ever fished with those and your opinion of them?

I love a 1/4 ounce spinnerbait even in the spring because everybody is throwing the big blade 1/2 ounce or bigger so i usually catch more having something smaller and different from what there seeing

I like smaller suspending jerk baits a lot this time of year. As you just showed, a good old spinnerbait can still do some damage. I think it's a lure that many anglers have fallen away from. I like spinnerbaits year round. Good informative video Sir.

I throw 1/2 oz spinnerbaits with bigger willow leaf blades to target bigger bass. I don’t get as many bites, but if I need keepers that is what I throw when 1/4 oz is not catching keepers. I slow the bait down even more with the 1/2 oz spinnerbaits and sometimes kill it and let it flutter down. That can really trigger some bigger bass to bite. Also try dragging 1/2 oz jig if there is some wood cover nearby to catch big bass

I love love love me a compact spinnerbait. So I know you just had a video with Andy and take everything you know about that skipping jig and apply it to the finesse spinnerbait. I like using a 5/16th ounce which is only 2gs more than that 1/4 but then I use a turtleback blade so it can be shallow if I want it to. But use a high density worm like the General and cut it to size of the bait and watch how far that shiny jig skips. I bet it changes apart of your dock game FOREVER. I like 16 or 15 Lbs line (whatever comes in at .013 dia. For a better skip) but yeah Ed that's a bait to take to the grave lol.

Spinner bait is and has been an awesome 👌 lure. The bladed jig has taken some of its thunder but a Spinner bait will always catch fish. It's been around for so long that when Noah bait the ark his used a Spinner bait to feed his family and animals on the ark for those 40 days and 40 nights...joke...lol
