For real. The run through Rival Schools was such a nice change of pace from what we've come to expect of fighting game story modes. Nothing too complex, just enough to convey a sense of who the character is and what their motivations are. The old win/lose screens acted in a similar way but condensed down to a hyper efficient nugget of character building. Ditch the hour long cutscenes, bring back compelling art that tells a story on its own merits.
