The Soviet Tsar Bomba detonated in 1961 had a yield of 50-58 megatons. The U.S. MOP beats MOAB and the B-2 bomber can carry two of the 15 ton bombs (2.5 tons of explosives). Each MOP can penetrate 60+ meters of reinforced concrete. It was first used against Houthi underground ammunition storage in October 2024.

I heard that the iranian nuclear facilities are under 200 or 300ft of mountain rock. Is there any way to penetrate such depths? Could a series of consecutive bombs, hitting the exact same spot, get through that extent of rock?

If there's a will, there's a way. First, the US won't need to spend the expensive MOAB, atleast not right away. Airstrikes will be call upon to soften selected targets. Then a combination of bunker penetrators will be deploy. There are many options the president has in his disposal.

11 US tons = 22,000lbs. 10,000 kilos = 22,000lbs. But why use English standard and metric together? Because lots of the info is just bs.

Dont confuse their Political will to fight with their Military Ability to fight. Iraq once the 5th powerful and largest army in the world capitulated in just 100 hours thats what happen when their government let loose their military without any restrictions! unlike in Iraq the US did not went to afganistan for full conventional war nor they went there to liberate afghans from the taliban, they went their to wage war on alqaida by sending only a small contingent of SF to help mujahideen in its fight against the Taliban.
