Bro Zellsis is the best example of being able to manage both. He is a content machine then a vibe merchant then winning the trophies and probably still gets paid less than boostio. And yet he doesn't complain not even once sentinels have made the most content througout the years so its not like zellsis doesn't have to work like crazy to be where he is. He is right boostio is being whiny about it.

A 14h workday is absolutely crazy on its own. In all of EU that would be illegal. Even in California where no laws exist for maximum working time in a day, you still have mandatory 30min lunch break, and 10min breaks every 4h. With a 14h content day thats, starting at 8am and ending at 11pm. I know the US is more lax on exploiting workers, but with a lot of jobs that are not 'playing video games' this would break OSHA rules for being an unsafe work environment.

It takes exactly one brain cell to realize that Boostio is a manchild baby who plays a children’s game for a living and is very well compensated. His complaining of having to work at 7AM seems condescending of viewers who work long hours at that time. It also seems condescending to his teammates who do the exact same hours. Boostio thinks he’s better than everyone, but really, he’s insecure about himself. Hence the projections.

I personally think PRX does the best content among all English speaking orgs now. Their content ideas are very different from the copy-pasta crap like NRG hot wings, and the most important thing is that they do NOT get the players to star in the created content all that often. And when they feature their players, many of it are vlogs during their team meetings, etc where they do not need to dedicate extra days to film content. After watching this video, I respect PRX management much more now.
@cnaizhen
@cnaizhen 3 ай бұрын
@@broodhar I hear your train of thoughts, and I agree that PRX's full attention is on their only valorant team, compared to 100T. That said, I disagree that players need to be physically used more for content just because they are paid more. If anything PRX is a team that relies heavily on their players for their popularity compared to 100T, which has a bigger org brand name. There is more incentive for them to feature players in video more. This is an example of how PRX does it: They got a staff to do a step by step review of the PRX players' stand-out plays. The concept is simple, editing is awesome, and the video is massively interesting (to me). Most importantly, zero PRX player time is wasted. I'm not sure of Riot's requirement, but I suspect that they have a requirement on the amount of valorant content that needs to be generated, instead of having a hard requirement that the players must dedicate X time for filming. Imo, it goes back to lazy org planning of content. NRG stands out in this area in particular to me, I rarely watch 100T content.

Why does 100T even involve players for content tbh. Don't they have a plethora of content creators signed to do content?
@animegopher
@animegopher 3 ай бұрын
@cnaizhen PRX is a significantly smaller market. 100 Thieves is not. 100 Thieves has teams in almost every esport competition. It's not a 1 to 1 comparison. On top of that... Having to wake up and do an early 2 hour shoot? He's using that as an example? And he's getting paid 6 figures to do it? 100 Thieves needs money. They lose money. They are subsidized by content. If he wants to continue playing pro and making the money he is making... Then yes... He has to do some content. Pretty easy. I know you might not understand it... But it's a business first and foremost.
@cnaizhen
@cnaizhen 3 ай бұрын
@@animegopher You may not understand it, but I never once said that boostio is right. You seem to be fighting an argument within yourself - are you okay? 100T being a bigger organization doesn't mean that they can't do what PRX did. In fact, they had much more resources to do more.

As a 100 Thieves fan I see too much credit is given to Boostio when it comes to 100T success this season. Zikz has been just as impactful as Boostio and I argue he is more impactful. The reason 100T had struggles last season was due to lackluster coaching. Mike is great as an assistant coach but I don't think he's ready to be head coach. Look what the previous roster did Under Sean Gares, they made it to champs after winning Last chance qualifier after only being formed 1 month prior.

Here's some insight from an oldhead too: I was streaming in 2011 because I wanted to play League for TSM. I was sitting around 2200-2350 elo and TSM was looking for an alt to play for OddOne, and I was a Nocturne one trick. It was my dream, but I knew there wasn't much income from it. Teams had houses because orgs couldn't afford, say, an apartment for each player, and didn't pay their players enough to afford rent on their own unless they were consistently coming in 1st or 2nd. Sponsors were scared of esports, your main source of income was either working a full time job and still playing, or being a successful streamer. Orgs used to even look at whether good players already had a following before recruiting them because it would be less financial load on the org itself. Obviously with sponsors flooding in stuff like that changed, but man, doing content for your org is the BARE MINIMUM. Do you want esports to die out? Do you want your org to dissolve because they don't have other revenue streams? Not only that, but do you want to get good at directed content that orgs do so that way when you retire you have that experience in the bag and can do shit on your own without having to worry about an org sponsoring you as a content creator? Honestly man it's just a super entitled mentality to have. Hell, look at the WoW scene - the top players for both PvP and PvE in Echo and Liquid still have jobs outside of playing competitively - except for a few of the super oldheads that have been streaming wow for 8+ years and already have a following. It isn't just given to you, doesn't matter how much you think you're god's gift to a team.

I mean if 100t unnecessarily getting the team up at 7 and it is having detrimental effects on their practice I can understand why he's upset. Obviously he didn't go about it the right way and it comes off as entitled and the 25 hours thing isn't the big deal he's making it. But I don't think he's just mad at being up early I think he's frustrated because he feels like it is affecting the quality of practice they are getting and they are constantly having subpar practices because of it I can understand why he would feel like they don't care about them winning

yeah boostio did say some passive agressive or straight up agressive stuff against the org but the "org has to make money somehow" just isnt correct. They got him because hes a good PLAYER and they will keep him until he isnt a good player or right for their team anymore. The play and how the players perform is the most important thing, the content is secondary. He is getting paid well, but that is for a reason, that reason being HE is a good PLAYER, and that is why saying this isnt being greedy or a baby. Know your worth!!! (and dont be jelous of others)

If we want to be in the middle, what boostio says is understandable from his own perspective as he won before with EG without the need to make contents and want to put more hours in the game. But really it is time for him to wake up that that was not feasible business. And probably time for him to be more mature about resolving conflicts and wants. And this gives me more appreciation towards someone like boaster who scrims, still need to put work outside scrims, and still understands that he needs to make content, and work on it. I think that's real passion combined with maturity I hope everyone in the scene can be more understanding towards each other.

I always knew this would come up at some point because you have literal teenagers and some adults on esports teams. So you are going to get your players who are immature and don't know how to communicate with their boss when concerns arise. Boostio will look back on this when he is older and be like, "That was so cringe and I regret doing it." I hope people don't grill him too hard and instead teach him how he should be handling things with professionalism. We were all once immature because we were still young, hell some of us still immature at the age of 50.

Honestly, never really liked boostios vibe and attitude to begin with. This situation kind of showing boostios lack of maturity and lack of understanding of what requirements needs to be met in order to provide for players and for the organization. Loved how nadeshot handled the situation of what was said.

Like other people have said, Boostio is coming from a trash org with no fan engagement, and the reason they won is they probably practiced and practiced, at the most streaming and some random press stuff. Now he’s on a team with a major PR train and he probably isn’t adjusting super well to the mandatory content interruptions. The dude just wants to win, but these major orgs don’t just want to win, they want to farm engagement and clout. He’s clearly not adjusting well. I understand it’s his job, and he definitely fucked up by complaining on stream instead of bringing it up with management. But if I wanted my org to win, and my best chance at winning was appeasing the garden gnome with his legs hanging off the chair, I’d probably try to adjust til the end of season at least.

Here is the thing, if he is so burnt out, why is he streaming? When you sign to an org, you are putting your personal stream on the back burner, seems like just another immature mindset. He wants to be paid to play, then go off and make more money on his personal stream leaving 100T to pray for more money.

Like you play video games for a living while some of us work with customers on our feet for like 10 hours a day and he cant handle a couple hours of streaming or playing video games for a couple hours is absolutely crazy that he's that upset and hostile about it. As a make up artist and hair stylist I would love to sit and play my games all day rather then deal with clients who are upset but I also love my job and need the money so maybe he should look at the bright side of things.
