The green note, grassy lime, turns tropical green with age in Laphroaig. It doesn’t really pop up in the 10 cs, but in the old bottling of the 18 year old you can find it and it’s awesome

Yeah and it's amazing! Loved the old 18... haven't tried the new one yet

so glad to see you guys doing reviews! I'm not sure I've had this batch but come on guys...debating value on a CS whisky at under 100 in 2024? Was this filmed back in 2018 or something?

I bough a quarter cask long time ago without knowing anything about this whisky. Could not taste anything but heavy peat and ended up using it only in mixers to add that smoke note and I absolutely love it. Neat I could not have more than 1 glass of it, simply not my thing

70$ for Laphroaig 10yo CS is a great price!

Not tried as its so damn $$$$ down here in Aus. but loved the Ardbeg Coryv. and Lagavulin 12yr cask strength... and the Laph Lore. Bought them a few years ago when prices where better. How does it stand up to these ones ?? thanks, AL

I drank my first Laphroaig for the first time this past Saturday and it was absolutely amazing. I think it quarter cask.

Laphroaig like a nice Talisker 10y that the barman added a piece of charcoa, liquid licorice and Robitussin to it.

Loved this one! It made me want to pull out a Laphroaig single cask I've been bunkering for a while. Will let you guys know how it is!

5:43 Drew says "You don't get a lot of smoke anymore." Do you mean that peated whiskies are being made less smokey these days, or that after you've drunk a lot of peated whisky you just don't taste it as much? I'm asking because I, too, have had my fair share of peated Scotch (my favorite category) but I, too, have noticed that "you don't get a lot of smoke anymore" and I don't know if it's me or the whisky!

10 year is not young for a peated whisky. 3.5 is a good score.

Since they include price for their rating - they need to check “price now”! T.W. = $115

That’s insane. It’s 80 here in Wisconsin. And we just got batch 17.

I 'm a scotch lover, and I so badly wanted to love Laphroaig because to me it is like the most iconic quintessential aristocratic genuinely scottish Scotch Whisky, I've heard it's King Charles' drop of choice, and it just makes me picture a foggy misty scottish moor... but... way too intense on the palate for me. Downright unpleasantly peaty and smokey. Almost "toxic" to me, like some kind of vegetation that is slightly poisonous. Can't drink it.

3 out of 4. We've been using the 4 finger pour as our max and best rating since we started.
