Sad to see Ivanchuk slowing down and not up to his WC form. After WC his form is not so good. He even lost to an IM. Anyways you will always be a legend Chucky . Also congratulations to Mishra.

This kid, Mishra, is truly something else🔥 At this rate, he’ll definitely join Gukesh, Pragg, Arjun & Nihal at the top. Can’t wait to see them all playing against each other & against other top juniors, such as Alireza, Nodirbek and Vincent, for the WCC Title in the future. I wonder how different chess will be as it evolves throughout the length of their careers. This new generation surely looks promising & packed with amazing talent! I wonder for how much longer will the previous generation hold against their growing strenght🤔

The sac doesn't work in the sense that it doesn't win it only leads to a draw. He's wrong that Qd8 is the only move, Qd6 and Rc6 doesn't do much since then Qd8 and as long as black continues to move his queen through those squares it's just a draw by repetition. He was also wrong when he repeated moves instead of playing Qf3 right away because it allowed for a draw. But none of this matters. There is a difference between a practical game and analysis and chess is hard even for legends. That said, I do think this game shows Ivanchuk wasn't prepared. If you're going to play a line you should know such cheapos. If he was prepped this game would have been a draw in under 20 moves.

all such complications created by white were made possible due to black's inability to protect its king with a castle. white's pieces were actively attacking, while black was not, its rook on a8 was still dormant by the time white initiated its devastating attack. so, black was caught by surprise. in a position as this one where the black king is open to multiple checks and attacks from different points and angles, often it is difficult to find a safe place where the king can hide and protect itself. the black queen was overloaded with many protective duties and eventually white manage to inflict real irreparable damage. again, all these opportunities happened thanks to the weakness that black allowed in the opening, where white simply sacrificed a piece in order to create an attacking mating net. black's h5 was probably a horrible move that caused it the game, allowing white to start the attack that was quite visible and coming from miles away. in so doing, black allows exd5 and gets greedy in trying to keep a piece. white was winning after sacrificing a piece in the exchange, giving black's king no time to castle, yet castling was already out of the question since black had also allowed white to disrupt its pawn structure kingside. hence, what was black thinking in moving h5? there is absolutely nothing achieved by that horrible move in the position at that moment in the game. the white king had already castled queenside, so that black's h5 was simply a waste of time. a player of high strength like ivanchuk should know that. in fact black's h5 proves nothing favorable since after that move it was all in favor of white going henceforth. with the threat of mate on e7, white manages to increase the pressure with double threats moves, attacking the rook on a8 while threatening to take bishop on e7 and mating on the move. so that it becomes easy for white to calculate all of the possibilities that the position renders, and it appears that there is nothing that black can do to stop it. normally, in these types of positions where one side has sacrificed a piece in order to gain an advantage in time and space and attack, it is necessary that the opposite side black returns the piece before things get worse. but here in this game black hardly had a chance to give back the piece. eventually white regains the piece but by then the game is already lost for black. so this game basically was decided in the opening and at the point of the exchange when black after playing h5 allowed white to carry out its full blown attack on the king. players are reminded to not lose sight of their opponent's intentions and to be on guard at all times. don't get greedy, don't waste time, play the most natural or demanding move that the game requires on the board, don't get careless, don't ignore your opponent's threats, don't delay protecting your king in the opening, don't give your opponent any chances of fulfilling an attack. until then, chess friends I hope that you've enjoyed this analysis, be happy, and have a nice day. thanks
