Always listen to that inner voice! Mel, I think you have come through this splendidly. But your body is warning you to lessen the pace a little. Remember the old totoise and the hare story we learnt as kids? And even God had to rest on the seventh day! Congratulations on your wonderful achievement over recent weeks. And - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

You made a great decision closing your store. Time to heal and to finish setting everything up. I suggest turning your listings back on in phases, so that the algorithym thinks they are new listings. Don't flood the market in just 1-2 days. Good luck and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I've sold on ebay for over 16 years as a high volume seller of books and really enjoy your channel. Glad to see you're taking the time for yourself to reset and get yourself right. One of the biggest issues I see with sellers is that they don't give themselves time to breathe and scale too much too soon. It can cause undue stress very quickly. Don't ever sacrifice your health for your business, in the end the sales will still be there but it's tougher to recover from putting so much stress on yourself. You're doing great and know what you're doing. I know you'll be great in the long run.

I'm in UK and selling books here on Ebay is a waste of time. Because of the postage costs books are being practically given away just for the cost of postage so there is no profit to be made at all. I have just junked over 40 books with more to go.

You know it’s very easy for us viewers to become “armchair quarterbacks” but we weren’t in the trenches with you! Your generous sharing of the struggles in moving such a large inventory business all by yourself is extremely helpful to others. I too felt admiration as well as sorrow in watching all you went through. Hindsight is so easy but I’m sure had you known what a toll moving this way and in a such short timeframe would have done to you, you would have made some modifications. Valuable lessons have been learned and as I say, you have helped us all by sharing your struggles and successes with us! You are a natural on camera and your sweet personality keeps us all watching. Best of luck in your new location and I look forward to watching more videos. You inspire me to work harder in my own ebay store!

You've been transparent and raw throughout your journey and I'm so thankful you're listening to your body and resting. Business can wait. And it's the most liberating feeling to walk away for a bit, recharge, come back and build from where you left off. I've done this a couple of times and sure the sales stop when the store reopens but after a few weeks of activity from listing, shipping and repeating, the drop in sales doesn't even feel like a setback at all. Like nobody ever thinks their meal took a backwards step just because the meat had to thaw before cooking :p Love ya and super excited you get to work with more space now!

Close the store or be broken. Seems like a good suggestion by the voice. I had to move my home of 17 years in about 3 weeks. When my partner came to be my truck driver, I cried. I know how you felt! I'm glad you kept in those parts. It's reality. Remember all the reasons why you're doing this. Bigger warehouse, more room, maybe another store for low end books, or whatever. Glad you called you mom and saw the doc. All good things. Oh, and thanks again, Thom.

Mel, never feel sorry for saying how tired and stressed you are. What you have taken on with day to day life, running the business, and a MASSIVE move, the fact you can still speak coherently is an achievement. It's actually refreshing hearing a real person speak the truth about how hard it can all be. I'm a bit tired of KZbinrs who just go on about how they are getting rich, how simple it is, they have they the magic "trick" etc etc. Being self-aware, listening to yourself, and knowing how best to care for yourself is a learned skill. Congrats on knowing what is best for you and for acting on it. 😊

Hi Mel, I am so proud of you that you finally chose for yourself again, even though you may have been too late at that moment. And the choice to take your store offline and give yourself time to recover is really great! I have been at home with a burnout for about 8 months (fortunately you are not suffering from that now) so I understand what it is like to continue while the body and brain send out different signals. I can only really appreciate that you are honest in your flogs and that there are also days that don't go as well. When setting up your store and creating your flogs, think about yourself first. We have been spoiled with many flogs in recent weeks, but this does not have to be so often in the future. You come first, then your personal life, then your store and then you might think about your flogs. I (We) will continue to follow you from the Netherlands and you are a real example to me in terms of your cheerfulness, your enthusiasm, your laugh, your honesty and the strength to bounce back from a difficult period. You're great Mel!

Stock Take: doing a full stock take is one of the next logical steps after a full move. I still need to do one for myself, which I've avoided since we moved to our current location. The issue is balance. Setting aside that much time is a big commitment, but if done well it can fix many small, daily issues. Stock in the wrong location, listings that eBay has deleted that should still be active, but are not and a chance to cull or lot up old stock. Looking forward to those videos. I should be doing mine at the same time you will be doing yours. LOL

Glad to see you refreshed and smiling. Girl, pretty sure all of us was hurting and crying along with you for the moving of a warehouse of all that into another warehouse mansion all by yourself can take the life out of you physically and mentally. Yes, when we all look at it through the lense of just a phone camera its hard to understand the "why did you put them that way and such". Glad though you listened to the inner voice. Me personally believes that that was God speaking to you and saying to shut it down and to just walk in it by faith. It had gotten to you by us as people to want to do it all ourselves not realizing that God wants us to lean on him and allow Him to step in and take the wheel. Trust me. I know. I have myself dealt with a lot of "doing it myself" issues and thinking that God is too busy for me to help when there are others that maybe have their lives in such much more dire issues than what I think is gonna kill me in the now moment. I did see your store opened, lol, but when I had gone back to look at all your things then it was just gone. lol. Worst possible time of year to move and turn-off the store. The bit between Christmas and New Year is the best time of year for book sellers. People sat at home with time to browse for the books they plan to read in the New Year. What you could have done, was set everything to 0 and then update stock as and when each shelf was moved. The last week of book sales for me has been the best for years !!

I've been watching your move. I want to thank you for your honesty. I'm moving as well so I put my store in time away with no sales for a month and will probably do it another month. You're truly an inspiration and thanks again

Hey Mel You are awesome and what you are doing is fabulous and quite a journey. There is only so much to go around and when you are running on so little you have to do what is necessary to get through. I am sure the store will be fine and we will all be supportive of you on your journey. Hugs.

Hi Mel. So nice to see you rested and back to normal. Closing your shop was the right thing to do under the circumstances. You really needed the rest. January 1st will come soon enough. Good luck with the reopening. Best wishes to you, your family and Thom for 2025. May it be a very successful year for you both. xxxxx

This sounds like the best move you've ever made, taking a break!!! From now on, when you feel you're overdoing it, stop and take as long a break as you need!!! That is a lot of books to move, a lot of physical work, anyone would get burnt out!!!!! Thanks for keeping it real!!!!! Poor Tom lol Hope you made it up to him lol
